Stomach cramps - are they normal?

Evening all

I'm only 6+1 pg, and up to now have had the odd little stomach cramp, no bleeding or anything, and have not really worried about them.

This evening however I had to go out socially with DP and as soon as we got to the place my stomach was really uncomfortably cramping. It was constant and lasted about an hour. The nearest I can describe it is wind (which it might well have been Blush ) crossed with period pain. Quite sharp and stabby all across my lower abdomen.

I was wearing tightish jeans so I have come home and changed into comfy pj's and tbh I do feel 85% better.

Should I be worried? Like I said, it could have been wind or normal stomach ache (although it felt a bit low for stomach ache). What is worrying me is I've gone a little bit overboard today and did an 11k run this morning and got sunburned, then this evening before we went out I had a small glass of wine. The place we went to was also very smoky.

I hope I'm worrying unnecessarily but it really was quite painful. Should I see how I feel in the morning and if I'm back to normal not worry too much?

Oh and can I use a hot water bottle or do they heat you up too much?

Thanks if you've managed to get to the end of an irrational pg woman's insane ramblings GrinBlush

I had this type of pain for about 6 weeks during both pregnancies and was constantly knicker watching in case I was bleeding, it was very worrying but it's really common. It felt like my period was going to start at any minute.

I don't think the hosp will advise you to do anything other than rest, a couple of paracetamol if it gets very uncomfortable and contact them again if there is any bleeding. Hopefully this won't be the case. Be sure to take in enough fibre at this stage cos you might get a bit of constipation even this early.

thanks so much geminigirl, I feel a lot better already...

I think it might have been wind, as I've had a bit of release since I got back and the pain mostly seems to have gone.

I feel a right wally for being so worried and being a little bit mean to DP who stayed out drinking but that on top of the run and the glass of wine had me really anxious!

thanks for putting my mind at rest.

May have been wind.
I found sitting in one position with tighter trousers on was a culprit for this.
I suffered with terrible trapped wind in early pregnancy having never suffered before. The first time I nearly went to hospital it hurt so much and I had no idea what was wrong with me!
