Temping before BFP

Hello, just a quick question for all those lucky ladies who've had BFPs, did anyone try temping when ttc and it showed no clear shift (quite constant) yet you still ovulated and conceived that month? Or if that happens, does that mean you haven't ovulated and that month is out? Thank you x

Can't exactly answer your questions, but I can give my experience... I temped for a couple of months before BFP. One month my temp was crazy -literally all over the place - although I was on holiday, was getting up at random hours of the day and it was Christmas so I drank ALOT, so this is prob why Blush
However I was also temping orally - the next month I started temping -ahem- vaginally and it was much clearer.
HTH and good luck!

My temp shift came much later than I expected (four or five days after I had a positive OPK) but it was a distinct shift that lasted.

Best of luck! Hope this is your month.

I can only tell you what I know - but I did temp for a looooooooong time before getting PG. I second nenehoo that using the old foof is the only way to do it - when I tried orally it was hopeless. I admit that I did see a very clear shift every month and I found it very helpful to learn about my cycles and to understand my other ovulation symptoms. I also know a friend who wasn't ovulating and she didn't see a shift, but that doesn't really mean that seeing no shift means you aren't OV IFSWIM.

I think illness and other things mean that the shift is not obvious, but if it happens like that again then definitely use OPKs. If they also appear to be inconclusive then it might mean that you aren't OVing every month (BUT you very likely will be some months).

Argh no increase and on day 23, so frustrating! Am taking it orally as I thought a shift was shown either way, will try the V way next cycle! Prob is I have a couple of hols coming up so won't be as easy to do. I'm not seeing ewcm either, but then am not sure if it is or not in some cases, I've even googled pics of it eww yuk but am still not sure!

Maybe it's normal to not ovulate for a while after coming off the pill, does anyone know?

Ha ha I TTCed for 18 months and but I never managed to google pictures of EWCM :)

Yes it can take time for cycles to normalise after coming off the pill.

Ime if your temperature has not shifted you probably have not ovulated. Which does not mean this month is out - you could be headed for a long cycle.

Are you sure you've not had a shift - you are using a thermometer with 2 decimal places etc?
