Piles on fire.... Argh!

Anyone got any 'old wives' or magic potions to help with piles? Feel like my bum and fanjo have been sandpapered to death and on fire. Currently have a Prep H wipe (impregnated with with witch hazel apparently) wedged in my bum crack and another one unfolded over the general area which has taken some of the heat out of it. But it's driving me nuts!

I have Anusol on prescription from the docs but not sure it's really working. Im 32 weeks preg and worried I'm going to be like this for another 8 weeks and then won't it get worse with all the pushing at labour???

Will the docs be able to give me anything stronger? Or is it just something I have to live with and address after the birth?
Never had this with my first pregnancy.

Umm, the only thing that helped in the short term was a SITZ bath - a bath of luke warm water with tea tree and lavender oil in - or salt - or all three. You need to soak for 20 mins then air dry. Wink

Once dry, anusol the living daylights out of your bum.

Mine were horrendous for about 2 weeks round about the same time as you, were a lot better in labour than I had thought and although I am still not quite back to normal (dd2 7 months) the pain has completely gone, just a bit more 'lumpy' down there than it used to be. :o

hi ya sleepy feel so sorry for you :( I had piles with my second and they were awful couldnt sit down and cried all the time was so annoying and pain ful and until you have piles then you have no idea what people suffer with.
I got Anusol and it seemed to help me also make sure ur eating loads of fibre and drinking loads of water as you dont want to strain when you go to the loo.
sorry i dont have any better suggestions.
