Dental anaesthetic in pregnancy?

7 weeks pregnant with DC2. Had horrendous toothache at 4 weeks and had a local anaesthetic at the dentist and a temporary filling. I'm supposed to go back next week to have a root canal filling. I'm wondering a) whether it was safe to have the anaesthetic at 4 weeks, not that there was any other choice, and b) whether I should have the work done at 8 weeks or wait until second trimester?

Check with your midwife for the current advice, but I know I had to have two fillings shortly after getting pregnant with dd and it was fine.
