I was standing on the bath to open the bathroom window, sort of lost my balance when I stepped down and, erm, sat on the sink Blush I feel a bit bruised and swollen now. There's no risk to the baby, though, right? If someone else posted a thread like this I'm sure I'd be posting the "baby is well-protected and cushioned" spiel, but now I'm second-guessing myself.

Can someone please reassure me and/or tell me I need to speak to the mw? No bleeding, cramping, or anything like that. It just hurts a bit when I sit down :(

awww poor you and bloody OUCH! im sure baby will be fine sweetie just get some cold peas for the swelling. i can imagine it will bruise but i doubt it will harm baby in any way! how far are you along?

If it will make YOU feel better, phone the MW Smile

Otherwise go and sit down on a soft chair, not in the sink eat some biscuits and feel relieved you didn't embarrass yourself falling arse over tit in the street or something Grin

Thankyou for replying! I forgot to say, I'm 16w+5. Plenty of time for falling arse over tit in the street yet Grin

I'm pretty sure the baby is fine. Still hurts to sit down though.

Ouch! Made me cringe reading it, poor you! Sure baby should be fine, but if your going to worry phone the midwife, pleeaassee don't stand on the side of the bath in future..(Speaking from experiences-pull cord broke and I was having to stand on side of bath to reach the tiny bit that was still hanging near ceiling to switch light on) many encounters where I've nearly headbutted the floor.
Balance is known to be off in pregnancy.:)
