Braxton Hicks at 17 weeks?

I am currently expecting DC3 and am only 17 weeks. Since last week I have been having what I can only describe as Braxton hicks. My stomach goes hard and period type pain for about 3 minutes and then it goes soft again and is over. They are not regular, it happens 3-4 times a day. I am worried though as it seems very early for them to start, I'm not halfway yet. With DC2 I had them from about 28 weeks.

Any advice on whether this is common with a third or if I should ask the midwife about it? Thanks

THis time (fourth child, fifth pregnancy) I got braxtons from 15 weeks! I was surprised too but seems pretty 'normal'. Now I'm geting them very strongly and fairly regularly at 37 weeks which again is new for me.

I did notice that I got them more if I was dehydrated, or doing a lot. SO, slow down, and have a drink? Wink

Common and normal apparently. I've had them from that stage in both pg.

Thank you that puts my mind at rest. Your absolutely right Manda I don't think I've had a drink today! Off I trot to the tap!
