So I went to the midwife today and she has refered us to the day unit at the hospital as baby's heart rate was a little high and no movement with it also he seems to have had a mega growth spurt this week 39 + 3 and measuring at over 40cm.

He decided to wriggle after I had left the surgery. Typical. Has anybody else had this recently and it all been okay. Also booked in for a sweep next week.

Not this exact thing, but after a scan at my 40 week appointment, I was referred for monitoring as the doctor was concerned that DS had passed meconium and may be in distress.

They monitored his heartbeat for about an hour and a half, which gave them a much better idea of what he was up to as they can't really tell much from one reading of the heartbeat. As it turned out there was no sign of distress from the heart beat.

Things like this are always worrying but try and reassure yourself that this is just a precautionary measure and it's always good to know that any concerns about your babies health are being taken seriously.

Hope all is ok for you.

Hi thefurryone thanks for that. We are back and everything is fine he is just asleep when they listen in and his heart rate is normal. They monitored him for an hour and a bit and finally got a few wriggles from him towards the end.
