Hard bump at 37 weeks

Does anyone know if it's anything to worry about? The baby is v wriggly. The midwife says she likes to see a soft bump but I didn't ask anymore and now it's playing on my mind.

It is probably nothing, but - insist on being checked out properly with a scan of the placenta. I had a hard bump and mentioned it at a few check ups (my braxton hicks would make my bump rigid for hours as opposed to a few minutes). I had a placental abruption at 38 weeks and in retrospect the consultant said the hard bump was a sign that this was happening. I think it can also happen for lots of less scary reasons, but anyone who has similar symptoms to mine I tell to get checked out just in case.

Oh crikey. Sorry to hear that. I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow so I'll ask again, just worrying a bit now. Anyone else?

Sorry - didn't mean to freak you out. Bumping for you!

It could be that your baby is in a weird position and so you are getting loads of BH to try to turn it. With my second she kept popping in and out of my pelvis and my poor old tummy was rigid trying to squeeze her back in
