Hello from hospital ;-)

Morning!

I'm in hosp being induced, was examined about an hr ago and I was 1cm and could feel baby's head, had my pessary put in, I've got dull period pain so I'm waiting for my contractions to start! I'm on my second magazine already, gonna have a walk about soon!

I'm terrified of the upcoming pain but I can't wait to meet my daughter, I'm filling up just thinking about it!

Good luck! I was induced last time and it went really well - much better than my first (spontaneous) labour. I second the advice about walking around as much as possible and also if they break your waters insist on having 2 hours after that to give things a chance to get going before resorting to the drip.

I'm amazed at how calm I feel, I had a wobble on my way in this morning but I know I just need to get on with it!

They've said they will break my waters when I get to 3cm

I'm soooo excited!!!

Yes my 1st! She's a Madame I'm 11 days over now, I just hope she doesn't keep me waiting till my birthday on weds!

Aww yay! So excited for you! I will have to agree with the keep walking advice. Try and stay as mobile as you can, I was induced with first and insisted I didn't want to be on the monitors all the time. Went for some really good walks round the hospital (even sneaked off premises to a better shop for munchies) but they don't know :D

How exciting. Well, as already advised, get on your feet and get walking

Also, if you're contracting well to get to 3cm, I wouldn't be in a hurry for them to break your water... inducing with a pessary is one thing, but once you're on your way I think it's better for them to stay as hands off as possible and let your body get on with it.

Even if you need monitoring you can still keep on your feet although some midwives seem determined to keep you flat on your back.

Agree - keep moving, and if you are contracting well, don't break the waters! Good luck - super exciting for you. Enjoy the frsh, new baby smell!

Quick update!

I'm not in labour yet, had a 24 hour pessary from lunch time yesterday till lunch time today, cervix was very very soft but only 1cm so I've had the gel!

Going to the delivery ward at 7pm tonight to have my waters broken so she should be here at some point tomorrow, on mummys 27th birthday!!

I'm so excited but bricking it at the same time!
