With first pregnancy I bled at 5 and a half weeks 9borwn) and 7 weeks (red with clots) though all turned out ok. Now pg again (6 weeks) and no bleeding yet which is great though obv I am a chronic knicker checker. If you bled in first pg did you in second?

I did - although much less with second one - & I was much more relaxed about it as I knew it was normal 'for me' and had been diagnosed with cervical erosion so basically knew it wasn't hugely worrying.

youbethemummylion · 22/04/2012 22:22

I did, with DS1 I had medium amount of red blood at about 9 weeks lasted a day then stopped no reason for it and everything was fine. With DS2 I had a HUGE amount of bright red blood in a sudden gush at about 7/8 weeks and then bled for a further 3 months, the reason this time was a haematoma but thankfully again DS2 was fine.

RattyPatty · 22/04/2012 22:30

have had bleeds on and off with all 3 of mine but all have turned out OK. But, like funnypeculiar it's normal for me iyswim.

Stressful and scary tho isn't it?

Pumpster · 22/04/2012 22:44

I bled with my 3rd and 4th and all was well, very stressful though.

sleepysox · 22/04/2012 22:48

Bled lots in my first, but not at all with second after 7 weeks.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 22/04/2012 22:52

Yes. I bled with both DS1 and DS2 but not with my third (DD). Had a range of opinions about what it might be, but no actual reason. It is stressful though so fingers crossed you avoid it this time.

Pancakeflipper · 22/04/2012 22:52

I bled with my 2nd. A lot and heavy. Throughout the pregnancy until the last month. Emotional roller coaster, but I did have regular scans so I saw a lot of my baby in my tummy. Knicker checking, loo paper checking.... I hated going to the loo.

Benaberry · 22/04/2012 23:16

Bled twice in my first pregnancy (c.6 & 8-9 weeks if I remember right, seems ages ago now!) and had two early scans that showed all fine. Now 26+0 with DC2, and no bleeding at all this time around: ended up booking a private viability scan at 8 weeks as it seemed weird, to me, to not have had the worry IYSWIM! Was (still am!) chronic knicker-checker...

yellowflowers · 22/04/2012 23:25

Yes am thinking of early viability scan but dh against it

Yes, enough to need a pad at around 7-8 weeks with both of them.

Duckypoohs · 22/04/2012 23:48

Yes, had a smallish red bleed in first pg around 14 weeks (due to sex Blush), had brown bleeding in second pg for a few days around 8/9 weeks, nothing with the third.

I did go to different epu's with the bleeds, the first time they were able to find the hb via a doppler, the second time I had an early scan.

Do you know why you bled in the first pg?

scarlettsmummy2 · 23/04/2012 00:04

Small amount of bleeding with first but nothing with second.

daenerysstormborn · 23/04/2012 00:07

1st pregnancy - bled till 23 weeks, all was ok in the end though
2nd - bled, then m/c at 11 weeks
3rd - bled, then m/c at 7 weeks
4th - no bleeding, my one and only problem free pregnancy!

yellowflowers · 23/04/2012 17:27

hi duckypoohs - not sure why I bled though epu said at 7 weeks it is common at that stage as it is when placenta forms. I am a bleeder though - bleed when I have smears and when I had the hsg dye test and for a year or so whenever I had sex (had scans after this but they found no reason). Maybe I also have cervical erosion though I've never been told that.

funnypeculiar · 24/04/2012 20:57

From what you've described cervical erosion certainly sounds possible - and (according to one mw I talked to) is the most common cause of bleeding - I also bled after sex for a while.

It took them until 34 weeks to diagnose me (& then the doctor got her mates round to have a look as it was such an obvious example )

Cookiesandcream06 · 24/04/2012 21:05

I did with DD briefly and have been spotting for about a week (currently 7 weeks). both pregnancies have had early scans and not seen any reason why. maybe one of those things and something extra to worry about for some of us Sad
But yes I dread going to the loo every time (and I have a weak bladder at the best of times so there are many trips!)

Best of luck. Smile

ViolaCrayola · 24/04/2012 21:07

I had a major bleed with my first at 13 weeks. Never found out why. Am currently 21 weeks with my second and no bleeding no far (touch wood, fingers crossed etc). I really thought I would bleed at around the same time, but it didn't happen. FWIW my Mum also bled with me (her first) but not with my younger brother.

Good luck hope things go well for you - knicker checking is awful isn't it.

AmandinePoulain · 24/04/2012 21:28

First pregnancy - several bleeds, some brown, some fresh, between weeks 6 and 13, diagnosed with cervical erosion, dd is now 4 Grin

Second - no bleeding until 11 weeks when I had an orangey mucousy show - mmc, baby had died at 8 weeks

Third - blood stained mucous at 5 weeks, scan showed a haematoma next to the developing placenta. Then no bleeding until some dark red mucous today at 22 weeks, currently 'waiting and seeing' but feeling lots of movements and baby's hb sounds good.

MissPollysTrolleyed · 25/04/2012 07:59

I had a little bit of bleeding early on with DC1 but had two separate weeks of light bleeding (mostly brown but some pink too) in the first 8 weeks of this pregnancy. Both occurred after I'd really exerted myself so I took it easy from then on and had no further bleeding - not sure whether the two were related.

ilovesprouts · 25/04/2012 08:04

my dd1 bled a few times wen she was pg with ds1 ,hes 2 now ,shes due dd1 in july and has a couple of small bleeds but alls ok :)

yellowflowers · 25/04/2012 08:05
