I'm 22 weeks now and just that, I can't so much as move my head/hand whatever part of me without having really sharp pains down the right side of my back. This is my second pregnancy and I don't recall any of this last time round. I could even drive to the shop earlier round the corner for the pain- God knows how I'll make it to work tmr. Any advice on things to eliviate the pain?

A hot water bottle? Are you allowed to used ibuleve gel when pregnant? I can't remember. Sounds like you've pulled something in your back. Should be better in a week or so.
Can you book in for a physio massage?

I'm 35 weeks today and in the last week I've developed Sciatica due to Wriggles using my right sciatic nerve as somewhere to rest his/her head or shoulder - it eases if I lie on my left for a while as it makes him/her move over, but it's only a temporary respite. Don't know if it a bit early for you, but I think it can still happen. Call your midwife and let her know what symptoms you've got as she should have a better idea of what you might have.

On things to relieve the pain, paracetamol is allowed but be careful with the doses. Other than that, try and alternate icepacks and a hot water bottle.

Thank you for the tips. How did you manage driving with the pain? I literally can't turn my neck!

nearly I had a trapped nerve in my 1st preg, could not move my head, was in agony. Call your MW and ask if your area has d
Quick referrals to physio, mine did. I saw one 3 times very quickly who helped with exercises.

Worth a try! Good luck.

Oh and it went. But I had to be really careful of not getting into funny positions (if that makes sense!)
