help! 12weeks an cyst getting bigger 17cm now:S

I had a early scan at 9 weeks and a ovary cyst was found at 10cm . Had my 12week scan and in 3weeks its allready 17 cm!
The docs have said it needs to be removed. I have another scan booked at 14 weeks to check the cyst growrh.
Should i be really worried for my baby? The docs arent telling me much. Im not sleeping very well with all the worry.

Make an appointment to see your MW and ask her to clarify the situation. Not being clear is awful and as the patient, you should have all the facts.

I don't know much about cysts but my friend had several when she was PG and had an operation to remove them after the birth. Her baby is fine and she is now expecting her DC2.

I hope everything is ok hun and they can work something out for you and your lo I don't really know much about this but I had a fibroid which grew when I fell pregnant and it had completely disappeared by my 20wk scan, I hope yours doesn't grow anymore sending positive vibes your way x

Thankyou. Im waiting for a midwife to rong me back, in my area you carnt make a midwife appointment thrpugh our doctors any more. At this rate i'll be worrying all weekend if they fail to ring back. :(

Hi things went bad ! The midwife seemed to know nothing and left me more confussed, she told me they'd never consider a operation while pregnant. Then i told well they have booked me in for 20 weeks! Just another week to wait and im back at the consultant for my scan. Im going to wirte all my questions down , so hopefully i'll know more and fingers crossed the cyst will av shrunk and not grown any more. : S

I went through the same thing when I was pregnant with my DD.

When I went for my 12 week scan they discovered I had a 25cm cyst on my ovary! As you are now, i was worried out of my mind. They told me I would have to get it removed or it would keep growing and there wouldnt be room for the baby to grow.

I had the operation when I was almost 16 weeks pregnant. It was the most scary time of my life, I was so worried about the baby. The consultant reasured me that everything would be fine but there was a low risk of miscarriage. I believe the second trimester is the safest time to operate though??

Anyway, to cut a long story short I had the operation and despite having a few issues in hospital with me having a high pulse and fainting the baby was absolutely fine and I now have a healthy 7 month old DD.

I hope you have good news at your next scan and the cyst has shrunk but if you do need an operation there really is such a low low risk of losing the baby.
