I'm just interested to hear what's going on with everyone else.

I am 16 weeks, was 8st 10lb when I got pregnant and am now 9st 6lbs (weight gain of 10 pounds (of which 3 in the past week and hence my getting all Shock).

I'll tell you on Monday, I was 53kg (8st 3lb I think?) at 9wks and going to see MW for 16wks check on Monday (although I'll be 17 wks).

I don't think I've put on LOTS but I have definitely put on and I'm eating quite a bit...

Could your 10 pounds be mostly choc? I know that Easter hasn't been too good for my bum.

JambalayaCodfishPie · 20/04/2012 09:32

39+5. Have gained about 7lbs. Have had little to no appetite throughout this pregnancy. Sad

MissPollysTrolleyed · 20/04/2012 09:43

Sorry to hear you've been poorly Jambalaya but very Envy at your minimal weight gain. Best of luck with your birth!

Whenhens my weight is definitely chocolate, crisps and bread, lack of exercise and general sloth.

I am only 7+4 and have already put on 3lbs :(

Was at the top end of the 'healthy' BMI for my height before I got pregnant, so I am definitely concerend I am going to put on about 4 stone :( :(

Have just been feeling really hungry all the time, and in the past week I have also being feeling nauseous - the kind of nausea that's only dealt with by eating something!

AM trying to fill my desk drawers with breadsticks, healthy uts, dried fruit etc. But toally fell off the wagon this morning and had a pecan danish Hmm

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 20/04/2012 10:03

mousey I gained 5lbs in the first month - a lot of it is water retention imho as I plateaued after that - am 16 weeks and have gained 7lbs altogether.

ItsMyLastOne · 20/04/2012 10:16

With dc1 I was 8stone 5lb ore pregnancy. I'd put on 16lbs by 16 weeks and 3.5 stone by full term! Shock I think quite a lot was water retention as I lost loads in the first week after birth. But I'm still hanging onto 13lbs even 19 months on! Hopefully I won't put on quite so much with this pregnancy. Hmm

Positiveplus · 20/04/2012 13:09

I was 10 stone 8 before I got pregnant, am now 11 stone 2 (= 8 lbs weight gain). Im 19 weeks pregnant.
Have definitely been putting more on in the last 3-4 weeks or so though and bump is a more defined one now.
Have been indugling in lots of crisps, chocolate and ice lollies!! (cant help it, Im not really craving fruit!!)

littlemissnormal · 20/04/2012 14:21

I'm 37 weeks and I've put on 13lbs but I've not had much of an appetite either, have been grazing rather than eating meals and I'm still going to the gym and running round after dogs and DCs!

As I've been informed by my midwife that the baby is feeling fairly substantial, I'm hoping to be under my pre-pregnancy weight after giving birth!!

bonbonpixie · 21/04/2012 03:02

I got on the scales this morning and almost fainted as I've put on 3 stone at 37+6. Another 3 pounds and I'll be 11 stone!!!
On one hand I realise this weight gain, is baby, fluid, fat reserves for breast feeding etc but im still finding the gain really difficult. My diet has been fairly healthy (although maybe should have been stricter with the cakes and chocolate...)
Is it unrealistic to think all this extra weight can be lost quickly by diet and bf alone? Don't think I'll have a lot of time to exercise the way I once did once LO is here.

woopsidaisy · 21/04/2012 03:43

I have put on at least two stone...and am nearly 25 weeks! Blush

However this is DC3, and I was exactly the same with both previous pregnancies. I seem to "explode" when pregnant. It isn't fluid either, just a huge bump and generally getting big! Grin

I no longer look at the scales, as I know it will all come off once bub is here.Breastfeeding seems to shift it quickly, and I'll get back to my slimming world too. I have gone up from a 32 to a 38 in my bra size alone! How the actual f**k is that even possible?

Ah well.

Spiritedwolf · 22/04/2012 20:44

Weight gain does vary enormously in pregnancy (appetite differences, activity differences and sickness differences) and smaller women do tend to need to put on more than larger women, so try not to get too concerned if you are small(ish) and put on a lot, most of it is baby and its support systems, which include a bit of fat reserves to protect you both.

I'm a larger woman (with plenty of existing fat reserves Wink ) though I had been losing weight prior to concieving though was only halfway towards my goal.

I lost weight for the first four months or so (except for Christmas in the middle), partly all day morning sickness, partly just continuing on the healthy eating I was doing before I got pregnant. I have since put on a small amount of weight - now 26 weeks - but am still below Christmas inflated booking in weight.

I don't know whether I'll maintain my current weight or whether I'll put on some, but I'm fairly relaxed about it now. As long as I'm aware of what I'm eating and how much activity I'm getting in, I don't think it matters - this baby needs to grow.

PollyIndia · 22/04/2012 21:00

I was 8 and a half stone and I am now about 9 stone 3 I think. So put on 10 lbs which is probably too much at this stage. I am only 17+3 - eek! I have always had a massive appetite and still do but obviously doing less exercise and no dancing in heels at all.
Maybe I should try and eat less chocolate and cake..

PollyIndia · 22/04/2012 21:01

Spiritedwolf I think you are right that i doesn't really matter as long as you are getting the right nutrients and being active

Blueaddie · 22/04/2012 21:02

I am not going near a scale because I can see with my eyeballs that I am as fat as butter!

And I am only half way......in pregnancy and to becoming a contestant on The Biggest Loser Wink

jasmine31 · 22/04/2012 21:21

I am 20 weeks and have gone from 55kg(8st 9) to 59kg(9st 4). I keep going between thinking I have not gained enough weight to worrying that it's too much so it's good to hear that there's such a variation here. The pregnancy books I've read seem to imply that there's an exact correct amount to gain but I guess the reality is everyone's different :)

Trickle · 22/04/2012 21:35

Just before I concieved I managed to loose the last pound that put me into 'healthy' BMI wise. The transition from loosing weight has been a bit wierd, but I'm doing my best to concentrate on no sugar, healthy fats, low GI and fruit. So far 20 weeks and I've gained 5ib - but I'm not undereating (far from it) and I was only 1ib away from overweight before hand. I think I may have lost some muscle, so if that weighs more than fat I've probably put on more it's just not showing on the scales iyswim.

shouldIbecrossaboutthis · 22/04/2012 23:24

I was 10st pre pregnancy and now weigh 8.5 stone at 18 weeks, very jealous of those of you gaining weight.

I would say, so long as you're not going mad try not to worry about weight gain and think of all the good it will be doing the baby. Grin

PregnantCappuccinoDrinker · 23/04/2012 07:36

I started at eight and a half stone and yesterday was 9 stone 4. Am 29 + 5. Have actually gained more than that sounds though as lost a few due to ms in the early days so at 12week weigh in, was lighter than when I got pg, never thought that would happen. All v different now...

bobblesmama · 23/04/2012 15:01

I also had no appetite throughout this pregnancy and only gained 13lb in total. Gave birth 2 weeks ago, she was a v healthy 8lb 3 and am now 1lb lighter than I was pre pregnancy.

As long as you are feeling well I would not worry about weight.

RockChick1984 · 23/04/2012 15:57

I gained 5 stone throughout my pregnancy Blush but I know it's because all I did was eat, and was on bed rest for part of it so wasn't burning anything off. It does come off eventually, but I've really had to retrain my eating habits (was 9st pre baby and never dieted, my metabolism has been shot by this!)

MissPenteuth · 23/04/2012 16:25

I'm also 16w, was 9st pre-pregnancy, lost a couple of lbs in the first few weeks (no appetite) but am now 9st 2lb. I only started gaining weight about 3 weeks ago.

Sproglet · 23/04/2012 17:22

I have put on 5lbs.................and I am 7+2 weeks (runs of and hides under a rather large rock)Blush

I was running 4 -5k a week before I fell pregnant but have felt so cr*p that I had to give up just hope is slows down soon. Have been constantly eating but making sure it is low fat but still will breast feed until the baby is about 25 yrs old and then I should be ok Grin.

Aworryingtrend · 23/04/2012 17:45

I'm 14+4 and weighed myself today, I've gained 3lb which I'm quite pleased with given I've been eating for England the last few weeks!
