HB MYTH- true or false?

Just curious did anyone do the heartbeat thing to try predict the sex of the baby? Iv been told in the past about girls heart rates are faster than boys at (i think) 50-60 BPM and boys 30-40 BPM. Dd it work for any of you? Or is it just a myth?

False for me - DS always consistently had a fast heartbeat and DD a slower ne. The day before DD was born I had a sweep and the midwife was sure from the heartbeat that the baby was a boy. DD definitely a girl :)

My ones heartbeats were about 160 ish for DS and 135 ish for DD I think.

Thanks was curious to know lol never did it with past lo's cause I always found out before I remembered it ha ha

It was true for me both times (DDs) and my friend (DS) my MW is a strong believer. I guess it's not an absolute but is a good 'rule of thumb' don't think it's merely an old wives tale.
