I was wondering if anyone has used topical steroids during the first trimester. I used triamcinolone acetonide cream 1% two times on a small area of my face for an infected rash before googling it and realizing it could cause cleft palate in the fetus! How worried should I be? NHS direct sounded pretty concerned but a GP told me over the phone it would "probably" be OK but prescribed fucidin for me (which I see is not 100 percent safe either but at least not as dangerous). I am now 9 weeks pregnant and used the triamcinolone this week and am still using fucidin now. Any reassurances would be great but I'd like the truth either way. Thanks!!
