Is this the start of labour...?!

Today is my due date... since last Thursday I have been having menstrual cramp pains with a dull back ache, on and off... Last night between 6 & 10 pm I started having pains which I can only describe as constipation pains, or like I needed a number 2.... I kept going to the toilet, but it wasn't that.. These pains came every 10-20 minutes and lasted anywhere from 20 secs to 1 minute, so not at all regular. When I went to bed, they just stopped :(
Today I have had a couple of the period pains again, but nothing to get excited about, but have been peeing almost hourly. I haven't noticed an increase in needing the loo at all this pregnancy until now. Down below is absolutely killing me, really sore, and feels very heavy, even though baby is only 3/5 engaged. I also have a massive lack of energy. Usually I don't feel like this until about 8pm and am taking dc1 out, tidying the house etc and have bags of energy. I have spent the last 3 days in hospital with fast pulse and migraines, so have had plenty of rest compared to being at home. I literally feel as though I can't keep my eyes open! Is this labour related....? Or am I coming down with something? Or am I being silly and am never ever going to give birth?! :o TIA x

Well, everyone is different, but it does sound labour related - like a practice run for the real thing. I had something like this a week before I went into labour, and then a slightly different kind of cramp/lower back pain three days before labour. I don't think you can easily tell the difference between false labour and the real thing while it's going on, but if the contractions aren't regular and they go away then it can be thought of as a practice run.

Peeing more frequently is also normal in the last few weeks.

Good luck!

I agree it sounds like warm-up labour to me - it might go away or it might build into the real thing. About the tiredness - listen to your body. Get as much rest as you can. If the tiredness continues to be extreme and worries you, phone your midwife.

Have a good birth!

She said she recommends me having a cs (as im a vbac and dont wan to be induced) at the start of next week, as iv been suffering migraines and fast pulse ... No idea what to do now tbh.... Sorry if I sound moany! My poor dp has had enough of my winghing I think, so I'm going to do it to you lively people instead Grin x
