Maternity Jeans that stay up??

Hi. Does anyone know of any maternity jeans that look nice and, most importantly, stay up? All the ones I have tried I have to pull up endlessly. Any suggestions very gratefully received!

ah the Holy Grail of maternity jeans...

good luck!!

tipp2chicago · 18/04/2012 22:46

The only pair of maternity jeans I have that actually stay up came from H&M. The Asda ones are crap but with 8 weeks to go I refuse to buy another stitch.

I recommend the dark denim over bump boot cut from Jojo Maman Bebe, they were about £30 and I have been wearing them since about 20 weeks. Also treated myself to some Boden slim fit in vintage denim, also over bump, super fit and stay put no falling down, they were on sale for £50. They have internal buttons for tightening and also belt loops which are v useful.

Bought some under bump from Mamas and Papas which while great quality were crap and fell down constantly. Also disappointed with Seraphine, although I liked the microfibre bump band, they fell down too.

I seem to prefer over bump but I guess everyone is different!!

Ps. Over bump leggings from Jojo Maman Bebe are absolutely brilliant too - priced £20!! Bargain. Great fit and all day long staying power Smile

Seraphine. They are the perfect maternity jeans.

I've given up searching. Might resort to a pair of these braces :)

woopsidaisy · 19/04/2012 07:04

Many people recommend the H&M ones. i bought pair of denim over bump jeggings from M&S the other day, and cannot take them off! They are so comfortable and do not fall down! Going to get a different colour.
Do not be put off by the photo-WTF were they thinking?Hideous images!-they are worth a try IMO.
Here.

I think from last week's thread the general consensus is underbump in the first and second trimester, and overbump from there on :)

terilou87 · 19/04/2012 10:07

I swear by mother care and always advise trying on first. Also next do some nice ones.

RockChick1984 · 19/04/2012 10:12

Just buy some with belt loops, easiest way I found (have 34" inside leg so struggled to find them long enough, never mind that stayed up of their own accord as well!).

RockChick1984 · 19/04/2012 10:13

Obviously you need to wear a belt as well, the belt loops don't do anything per se Hmm

WestWinger · 19/04/2012 10:20

Thank you for the advice - time to get browsing, I think!

Sorry if there was a thread about this last week - I did do a search to try to avoid duplicating, but obviously I am incompetent - no surprise there Blush :)

I got over the bump mamas and papas boyfriend cut jeans. Best £35 I spent on maternity clothes

KikiRC · 19/04/2012 10:57

I wore the soft material Topshop maternity jeans all the way through. They have a soft stretchy waistband that can be worn under or on the base of the bump depending on what stage you're at. Good after the birth, too.

DarkMatter · 19/04/2012 12:35

I recommend H&M over the bump styles. I am normally a size 12 and I have a pair of size 10 maternity jeans to see me through to 32 weeks (ish) and then go up to the size 14. They are quite cheap so 2 pairs are affordable! So comfortable and they look good - my non-pregnant sisters asked where they could get some without realizing they were maternity jeans!

HappyAsEyeAm · 19/04/2012 15:54

New Look over the bump ones were great in trimester 1 and 2. I can't fit into them since I have been about 30 weeks, but I think the fact that I have eaten basically non stop has more to do with that than the fit and style of the jeans. They are only about £16 too.

blondiedollface · 19/04/2012 16:49

Gap under bump and over bump are ridiculously comfy, they come in all shapes, colours and fits and they do stay up incredibly well!

HateBeingCantDoUpMyJeans · 19/04/2012 16:51

I hated this when pg with dd but discover over the bump ones with ds. They are amazing and not how I thought they would be.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 19/04/2012 16:58

I have some from Dorothy Perkins and they're mega comfy...

WinterMymble · 19/04/2012 17:39

I agree with Sangoria - the Jojomamanbebe dark over-bump maternity jeans are FANTASTIC. Been living in these!

SoozyWoozy · 19/04/2012 18:47

New Look for me too... had some lovely underbump ones which still fit, but do need pulling up. The overbump ones are lovely and in a really dark blue so can easily be dressed up or down. And only £16. The underbump ones are reduced to £11 atm.

puccigal · 23/04/2012 15:33

Hi, i'm 13 weeks pregnant and just bought my 1st pair of maternity jeans this time round from Dorothy Perkins, they are comfortable but I can see the quality of fabric isn't so great, I'm waiting for x2 pairs to arrive from ASOS, fingers crossed they will be better. There really seems to be w gap in the market for good maternity jeans/ leggings mid price £99-£120 offering all the fashion colours and prints. It can't be that difficult can it for a retailer to offer such a collection? I found that if you go on to www.ilovejeans.com they have a good selection of maternity retailers, which cuts out time of surfing the web. Will let you know about the ASOS jeans when they arrive xxx

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 23/04/2012 15:38

Shock £120 for a pair of jeans you'll be wearing a max of 6 months? give me my 'poor quality' £30 DP's any day

RockChick1984 · 23/04/2012 15:45

Agree fluffy they don't need to be the most amazing quality, it's not like you need them to last forever! I found that by buying 2 cheapy pairs that was plenty for my maternity (1 to wash, 1 to wear) and if I'd spent a lot on them I'd have had no qualms about wearing them post natal as well (despite still carrying some baby weight 13 months on, I was out of my maternity jeans and into normal jeans within a month although 2 sizes bigger than pre baby ) Grin

puccigal · 23/04/2012 22:27

I don't think just because i'm pregnant and only going to wear them for 6 months + should mean I should wear cheaper jeans than I usually would. I've been wearing the DP's maternity jeggings all day now and they are at least 2 sizes bigger than this morning. You get what you pay for, which means I will have to wash these tomorrow, to get the shape back -hopefully. Where a jean with a better fabric content ( probably cost more) would hold the shape after 1 days wear. Sometimes cheap is expensive. I'm also looking at companies that convert jeans to maternity ones and then will revert them back when your ready.

CokeZeroAddict · 23/04/2012 23:34

The solution is to get yourself a pair of braces. This is what I did. Works brilliantly!
