Karenanne, don't panic!

Be calm.

My DD was born at 36 weeks and she was 6lb 8oz, a good weight. My freinds baby was born 3 weeks early and he was smaller, about 5lb 5oz and he did have to go into special care for a couple of weeks, so it differs.

When I had DD they gave me steriods to strengthen her lungs to be able to cope better when born. Did you midwife mention this to you?

Hugs, and good luck!

karenanne - my friend had an emergency CS at 34 wks and her ds was 4lb 12oz. He didn't need to go into special care at all.
Don't panic, your baby should be fine.

A note about the waters breaking... mine didn't gush at all. They just slowly trickled. I only noticed it coz I sneezed!

Good luck!!! keep us posted!

I had dd at 35 weeks and she was fine, overnight stay in special care, and tube fed, but fine. She weighed 5lb 3oz. Don't worry!!

I s'pose thats good news! Not about the erosion, of course! This must be boy.... he's toying with your emotions already!
