What is this pain?!

Just wondering if anyone can suggest what my pain could be?

It's a sharp, bruise-like pain at the top left of my bump that's constantly there but also tender to touch. Went to be checked over last night at the MAU and all is normal, liver function, urine and baby trace. Obviously that's great as it means it's nothing serious but it's still there today and I want it gone!

The doc suggested it could be gastric and linked to all the heartburn I've been having and has prescribed me ranitidine (sp?)

What do the folk of MN think? Muscle/ligament pain? Gastric? Certain death?

I'm 32 weeks btw.

What position is your baby lying in? I have a pain that I would describe exactly the same as you have. My baby is lying transverse and it is where he/she is pushing to try and turn (without much success, so far...) so it feels really bruised.

Thanks ladies, it doesn't feel like my ribs but it does hurt more if baby kicks that spot so maybe that's it? Baby is good and wriggly maybe he/she is just feeling squashed?

I have had this so many times in pregnancy, feels a bit like a super bad stitch pain? Hurts to touch the area and kills when baby kicks the spot. All is well with baby, I'm 39 weeks now. Infact only had last attack of it couple of days ago, lasts few days then should ease, I couldn't lay on that side, it hurt to move when was at its worst. I assumed that its either stretching/round ligamint pain, or baby pressing on a nerve even though it doesn't go when baby moves
