Hi there
I'm looking for a bit of reassurance on foetal growth. I'm in my third trimester (35w4), and my baby seems to stopped growing at the same rate as before, and is actually falling well below average. Over the last two weeks, u/s showed a 125g weight gain for the baby, well below the 400g or so that seems to be the average. And I have gained nothing in the past two weeks, compared to a roughly 4 kg weight increase every month until now.
My dr didn't seem worried, and i didn't probe much, as i hadn't had a chance at that point to google incessantly! But now that i have...
I just wondered if anyone else had had a similar experience, and did it turn out to be ok?
Thanks

Can't offer much advice, but I had growth issues with DD2. All turned out fine, although she was only 5lb 1oz at birth. I had a single artery umbilical cord which can lead to growth issues, so no idea if it was that or just one of those things....

I was monitored regularly though and they checked the growth every 2 weeks towards the end I think. She was breech as well, so one thing after the other!! :)

Good luck.

my OB told me that most babies grow in a very predictable way until 12 weeks, and then from there, genetic factors come into play. i.e. there's a fair amount of variation between individuals, and baby will probably grow at a similar rate to what mum or dad did.

if doctor not worried, don't dwell on it. if it had been an issue, he/she would have swung into action. ask next time you go.

4kg every month is quite a lot, i was told that after 12 weeks, 2-3 kg a month was more usual? maybe babe is slowing down a bit to make up for earlier growth.
