Mine already know so I don't have that issue but I'm 8+3 and i've had to wear my jeans undone all day today.

To start off it was bloat from all the hormones (I had IVF) but now it's quite a prominent belly. Probably all the crappy food but hopefully the baby will grow in to the bump Smile

i had this, i kind of got really bloated between about 5-8 with my 2nd and 3rd and then it all settled down and i didn't look so pregnant! was weird. but i got away with not telling people

RedBlanket · 16/04/2012 20:58

Probably not what you want to hear, but I had the beginnings of my bump at 6 weeks, and I has twins.
I was going to a conference with work and everything
Was a bit too tight. You can disguise with loose fitting clothes. I did t officially tell until 14 weeks, although loads of people guessed before that.

NenNen · 16/04/2012 21:01

I was just like RedBlanket - showing at 6 weeks = twins! In fact, I got married at 7 weeks and despite knowing knowing I was pregnant beforehand everyone was asking me when I was due! Grin

whenskiesaregrey · 16/04/2012 21:01

I had this early on, but it was 95% bloat. Things settled down about 10-12 weeks, and from then on people just comment how small I am. At 6 weeks I was convinced I was having twins. I would just stick to baggy clothes for now if I were you, and probably throw in the odd 'I feel so bloated today' comment.

KIWIFTM · 16/04/2012 21:05

It would be a lovely surprise to have twins - but 12 weeks for the scan seems ages to wait and I'm pretty sure people at work are already looking at my tight fitting clothes... oh dear

FirstLastEverything I know exactly when I conceived as I'm been using ovulation calculators - so I'm pretty sure I am 6 weeks . I hear that GPs put your date from your last period....

FirstLastEverything It's my first, so feel as if I have nothing to compare it to - hence the post...as some say it could just be bloat in this certain phase...

Watch out: you might be further along than you think. I turned up for my 12 week scan and found out that I was 21 weeks! I had a couple of false negative pregnancy tests early on, in my defence.

Rhianna1980 · 16/04/2012 21:28

Can't you wear some baggy tops? I wear them to hide my belly when i have my periods , I seriously get bloatedAngry Angry , very very very bloated ! Floaty tops and loose pants do the job Grin

KIWIFTM · 16/04/2012 21:29

Microtufts I had a hycozy done two days before my conception date to check my tubes were clear as we had been taking ages for us to conceive, so we went for all the tests. The week before the hycozy procedure I made sure I did a pg test (as you can't be pg for this) and they were all negative - that's why this is baffling to me..

Bloat dear. Have a good old fart Wink

oikopolis · 16/04/2012 22:47

i was the same, was in maternity jeans at 8 weeks because i was just so uncomfortable. it was all bloat though. babe isn't nearly big enough at that stage (unless twins of course).

TBF though, and i was also tracking ovulation religiously and thought i couldn't have got my dates wrong -- i was also 2 weeks further along than i thought. it happens.

just keep comfortable and tell them if you want to. i told the boss at 7 weeks (because i had tonnes of appts to go to) and everyone else at 12 weeks. one girl at work guessed at about 10 weeks though :)

KIWIFTM · 18/04/2012 20:37

Thank you oikopolis that's a good idea. Feels like it's only a matter of time until someone notices. I can't wear any of my jeans, so am in baggy tops and skirts for now...

my best mate had twins and got a bump very early Wink

alwaysanauntie · 18/04/2012 21:32

I told my line manager & hr at 6 weeks as I felt so rough & didn't want days off to affect by sickness record, didn't tell rest of colleagues until after 12 week scan though. On the twins front only person I know did show very early but also has terrible morning sickness due to all the hormones. If you're that concerned could you book in for an early private scan? May help put your mind at rest. Other than that I second floaty tops and looser trousers, saved me in the early days :o
