Just found out I'm pregnant with number 3 a week ago. Started light bleeding yesterday no pains though. Doctor said to wait and see what happens next. Has anyone been through this? Any advice? I just want to know whats happening one way or the other (!)

Hi, didn't want you to go unanswered.
I think it really could go either way. No pain is def a good sign.
I am 16 weeks now and started bleeding at 4 weeks, was advised by hospital that best chance was bed rest for a few days if thats possible for you. I did this and the bleeding stopped after 2 days, I have had more episodes of bleeding since including a massive bleed at 8 weeks but have had a few scans and fingers crossed things are ok.
I had a miscarriage a year ago which started with the same bleeding, I carried on as normal and the bleding got heavier and led to a miscarriage.
I really hope everything works out for you as I understand how stressful it is not knowing and waiting. X

I know how you feel. Unfortunately it could go either way but plenty of women have bleeding and continue with healthy pregnancies, don't give up hope and don't be afraid to push for an early scan if you're still bleeding in a week or so as they'll be able to tell more then. I know how shit it is not knowing but good luck!

I have to agree with Jelly that this could go either way... Which isn't very helpful I know!

At Christmas I had a chemical pregnancy (a month after a later mc), I tested positive a few days before and started bleeding on Christmas day which turned into heavy bleeding and a negative a week later...

However, I'm currently 13w 3d pregnant and experienced bleeding a few days after my BFP. I got my GP to refer me to my EPU (early pregnancy unit) who scanned me (too early to see anything) and tested my HCG levels - which doubled over a few days, they rescanned me every few weeks until they saw a heartbeat. I have to say that I've been plagued with bleeding even now and I'm currently signed off to rest... Baby seems fine at the mo though!!

I really hope that you get a positive outcome and I know how scary it is not knowing at the moment, I would highly recommend that you make an appointment with a sympathetic GP (quiz the receptionist who has an interest in women's health as some of them are very old school!) and see if you can get referred to see how things are progressing.

Hope things go well!!

Just want to say thanks for responses. It has made me feel more positive even though the waiting is still driving me nuts! :)
