I know baby comes when it's ready and I should just enjoy the last few weeks etc:o... but just for fun, when can you/did you ramp up all the sex/curry/walking stuff to make you feel like you're being proactive? I'm 37+4 atm. Do you start at 38 weeks or wait until 40?

Though this week I've been having more regular BH and am losing bits of plug, I can't help but feel baby's not moving out any time soon (not that I have any real clue as a first-timer!)

Also, has anyone been successful with acupuncture?

Then when it all fails and LO's clinging on by the toes at 42 weeks, I can say I've tried.

I was desperate to get to 38+2 without giving birth as I was my sisters bridesmaid, so I waited til then to ramp up the efforts Grin

I am now 40+9 and swinging back and forth between trying very hard, and cba to do anything at all!! I have run out of raspberry leaf tea, eaten three pineapples even though I react to them, eaten loads of curry (though I do that anyway), walked, bounced, had sex and taken EPO!!

Will be trying acupuncture this week if nothing has happened by the time I'm booked to see the consultant to discuss induction (wednesday)

Pmsl beyond.. just read that as 'swinging back and forth' and thought 'good grief, she is keen':o

3 pineapples sounds very brave, as does curry marathon. Quite worried that if it works I'll turn up at labour ward with the squits and the midwives'll be so disgusted they'll send me homeBlush

Getting birthing ball this week, so will try the bouncing.. If nothing else it'll stop my hips seizing up from too much sitting on my arse on the computer vacuuming.

Hope things kick off for you before Weds!

i'm 37+3 and as my midwife said "you are now officially full term! baby can come at any time" have been taking 4 raspberry leaf capsules and 2 evening primrose oil daily, i hate curry but i have been eating pineapple, nearly passed out by taking very excitable jack russel out for walks and husband is getting sex tonight atfer a long period of me not being in the mood.(not that i'm in the mood now but i am so fed up of pregnancy i just want the baby out ASAP!)

littlemissnormal · 14/04/2012 15:59

Are you swallowing the evening primrose, massaging it in your belly or ahem inserting them? Wink

Flisspaps · 14/04/2012 16:09

I didn't, DD was born at 40+16 after induction, currently on hour 13 of irregular ctx with DC2 (40+10)

mythical · 14/04/2012 16:38

swallowing the evening primrose... i haven't got around to ahem inserting them.. I shall keep that for when i'm slightly more desperate :P

littlemissnormal · 14/04/2012 18:55

I've got them to start taking next sat when I hit 37 weeks but I've read that people insert them and not sure how I feel about that!!!

FreshwaterPlimpies · 15/04/2012 09:12

Not sure about EPO either... Presuming they have to be in contact with the cervix to have any chance of working? Not sure I could reach!

All the best Flisspaps. Really hope things get moving for you soon.
