I've just joined slimming world as I really can't afford to put on too much weight.
I've also been walking a lot most days and am getting a pre natal exercise dvd.
It would be nice to have some support along the way.

Ladies, thanks :)

I think that's the thing - attributing to the ever-increasing knots for women to tie themselves up in regarding their weight and how they view themselves.

I'm 5 foot 2, and 11.5 stone. If I went by my BMI, I'd be having panic attacks Wink Yet I'm still swimming 1250 metres three times a week (albeit a lot more slowly!) and do yoga every other day. This picture makes me feel a lot better about BMI

I think I'm just a lot more sensitive about my changing body than I thought...it took a really long time to stop doing exercising/dieting to the end of looking good, and just eating good and moving for my health. Seeing all those posts in other threads about people of 8 stone whatever discussing down to the half pound how much they gained had me panicking :)

Bettybat y ou're right. It is easy to become obsessed with weight gain.
I just fear if I don't try to monitor it, I'll end up 2 stone heavier and I'm sure it will affect my quality of life because of how I'll feel about myself.

Being obsessed is one thing and monitoring is something else. I don't think its a bad thing. We should all try to be as healthy as we can be.

Hi just thought I'd mention that at my booking appt I spoke to my MW about my weight gain worries. She has applied to get me an appt with a dietician even though I'm not overweight now. I'm so glad she took me seriously.

I'm nearly 11 weeks and I'm too scared to get on the scales to see the damage! I think the key for me is fat gain but I don't see how you can differentiate between fluid weight and fat at this stage.

I was interested to read what one poster said about fat being important for baby brain development. I read somewhere that babies can be good sleepers if a certain part of their brain is fatty or something like that. My DD has slept through since 5 wks and is now nearly 2, so just maybe there is some silver to my horrific weight gain last timeGrin.

I've tried the Davina dvd now and I really like it. After experiencing 30 day Shred, this is seems so gentle but its better than doing nothing. I've kept up my walking but unfortunately I've been eating a bit more than I should have.

I shall try to stick to healthy eating again - 3 decent meals a day and 2 healthy snacks.
