Aspirin face mask during pregnancy - bad idea?

I did this a few times at the start of the year and got some good results. This pregnancy is bringing me out in some lovely big red itchy spots so I was going to do it again tonight till I remembered that you don't take aspirin orally when pg so can I use it for a face mask?

I'd ask my mw but won't see her for a couple of weeks.

Failing that, anyone else have some homemade remedies (or cheap buys!) for pg spots??

no idea but wondered how much aspirin it contained im on a low dose 75mg of aspirin due to bmi and supposed to be taking this everyday, if a low amount and its not ingested i would say you'd be ok, maybe ring the mw office to ask :)

I would personally say not. It can get absorbed through your skin like an Ibroufen (sp?) gel would. I am allergic to Ibrobrufen and have to use gloves when applying the gel to my husbands back. Like 'Goingmad' said if in doubt ask the MW. I would be intrigued with her answer !Smile

I just use germolene or savlon like a mask when I get pg spots. Just leave it on overnight and do it again next next if not cleared up. Usually works for me.
