Where can I get maternity trousers for work?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good place to get work trousers? I live in the west midlands and would like to try them on as the fit can vary so much so ideally an actual shop, not online. Thanks xx

I got some nice black work trousers from New Look maternity. Didn't want to spend too much as I'm only going to need them for a few months! Depending on the size of the shop they had 3 or 4 different styles so there should be something to suit hopefully.

Next do some?

I second New Look. They also do different leg lengths which I found useful. They wash really well too. I got a couple of pair of trousers from there and they have been great.

I emailed next and they told me a list of their local stores who stock the maternity range, I'd imagine most companies would do the same. Also debenhams maternity range is good for the price.

I bought two pairs of black maternity trousers from Dorothy Perkins. They have adjustable waist inside so i could just keep expanding them and they were great value Smile

Some ASDA Living stores do maternity gear, they probably have some.

H&M

I got some nice black trousers from Next. Other than that, I bought all my maternity clothes from H&M, New Look and Topshop. I'd say the Next trousers were the best quality maternity wear I bought. One of the Topshop tops was great, the other seemed to get bobbles after two washes :( The H&M stuff was the same quality as their normal clothes.

GAP are good

I got some New Look ones. They were a bit cheapo but then I didn't wear them that much as I stopped work earlier than I planned. But for £20 they were alright.

It's hard to be able to try stuff on in the shops, so many now only have the maternity range online. I've found that quite annoying.

I got some in the Gap sale, maybe a week and a half ago.

Another vote for Gap -- they really saved me for workwear.

As an alternative to trousers, I have also loved having this skirt from Gap for work -- it's as soft and comfy as tracksuit bottoms but looks decent, and because it's long you don't have to put yourself through the torture of tights.

Ebay!

I have been impressed with Mamas & Papas trousers / dresses / skirts!

cherrypieplum · 11/04/2012 18:30

Asda work trousers are ok, Matalan are pretty good and Mothercare had some good sales recently :)

LouisaJF · 11/04/2012 18:30

I got some good black trousers from Debenhams. I think it's the Mantaray range. They for really nicely and were only £25.

Penny2012 · 13/04/2012 08:55

I went to the bullring and popped into H&M. I got fantastic black skinny trousers, biscuit 3/4 length slim cut trousers, black leggings, a blue cami, a blue patterned top and a gorgeous navy slim cut tip with lace sleeves and upper chest section which I love. All that was £87! Such nice clothes that I can wear for work/casually. I normally am really strict about work and casual wear being very separate but I don't think that approach is particularly sensible when it comes to maternity wear! When I need some more I will definitely check out the places mentioned here, especially GAP, ASDA and Mamas&Papas. Thanks again for all your help xxxx
