Fisharefriendsnotfood · 11/04/2012 07:47

Gingerbreadlatte · 11/04/2012 07:59

OOh exciting. So chances are you will have to go back again in 2 wks!

Im not feeling too bad. Have good and bad days but its mainly the tiredness this time- so I am lucky.

How about you?

ticklebug74 · 11/04/2012 08:04

Woohoo! Good luck!

I have mine tomorrow and it seems like I've had to wait a lifetime. I am 12w5d today.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 11/04/2012 08:23

Do you think I'll have to go back? They told me it wouldn't matter. So exciting seeing baby the first time, this is our third and I think I'm more excited than the first time! Smile

Hi Fisharefriendsnotfood, this is my DC3 too and I have been really nervous this time - think the excitement will kick in after the scan. What are the ages of your DC1 & DC2?

Gingerbreadlatte · 11/04/2012 08:27

Maybe if they find you are only 10+5 and if you are having the nuchal test or combined test, I think you need to be more than 11 + 2 or something for it to be accurate. I may be wrong, there is something about timing all over my scan invite letter but I don't have it here.

We must be practically the same edd? Mine is 1 or 2 Nov Grin Grin Grin

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 11/04/2012 08:31

Ah that explains it, I'm only having a dating scan not a combined Smile and yes I reckon I'm due on 2nd Nov.

Dd is 4 since last month and ds was two in January.

Wow impressed at DC3 Fish and Tickle!

Mine is DC2, DD has just turned 3 :)

Are you due Oct then Tickle?

ticklebug74 · 11/04/2012 08:53

Yes my calculations are for 19th October so we'll see how close it is tomorrow.

My DD is 5.5 and DS was 3 in Feb.

Finding pregnancy hard third time around but hoping (from what friends with 3 have said) that having 3 kids is not much different to 2! Or maybe I am just living in a fantasy world!

Gingerbreadlatte · 11/04/2012 08:58

Cool- hope they agree with you :)

How did you both find the jump from 1 to 2? Feeling worried about that now as things seem so easy with one suddenly

my daughter will be 3.5 so I am hoping she will be a help rather than massive hinderance....

ticklebug74 · 11/04/2012 09:05

It is has hard or easy as you make it really. It will be a big adjusment for your DD so patience is the key.

I was also of the theory that I needed to get DS into a routine so life was put on hold a little for 6 months which was tough but we reaped the rewards afterwards as my DS had a regular routine which made it easier to spend time with my DD and plan outings. I have friends who followed the 'baby should fit in with our life' theory and things seem so chaotic still for them, I just can't do chaos. I NEED ORGANISATION! :o

I have no family around at all (my family in australia and inlaws two hours away are uselss) and seem the least stressed of all my friends who get copious amounts of help. I put that down to the first six months of hard work getting DS into a routine (and yes DD was a little negelected at that time and cbeebies got a good workout) but it payed off for me.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 11/04/2012 09:16

My dd was only 21 months when ds came along, and was only walking 4 weeks and had NO words so it was MENTAL for 6 weeks or so and then everything just kinda settled. They play together so well now tis fab. Saying that, I planned this baby around dd starting school in sept and ds being in preschool 3 mornings so I get to look at this child... Ds was 6 months when I seemed to have time to see him properly Grin

Phew! Do you have to go back again?

How exciting !

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 11/04/2012 19:01

No, not till 20 week scan. They reckon I'm 11+ 2 today. So great to see all ok. Good luck ladies let me know how you get on Smile

ticklebug74 · 11/04/2012 19:32

Glad it went well. I have had a few night terrors that there is more than one in there! All will be revealed tomorrow. So what will your due date be?

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 11/04/2012 19:47

Oct 30th. This scan really hurt for some reason, zi thought she was going to bury the thing in my stomach and it took her forever to say anything with a big serious head on her - had myself worked into a bit of a state worrying something was wrong but all was okay. No idea why it was so a ad, she just said she had to do it that hard. I cried a bit Blush And I've had two massive babies naturally

Good luck tomorrow ticklebug, will be thinking of you. What time is your scan?

RetroMum1 · 11/04/2012 20:38

Great news Fish, and I know what you mean I am due on the 2nd Oct with DD3 and my nuchal was so hard and painful, much harder than the last 2 times. I was almost in tears. I've had to CS's and she was pushing and digging into my scar line, DH said he thought she was going to split it open.

My DD is 4.5 and DS was 2 in March, everyone I've met has told me that the leap from 2 to 3 was much harder than 1 to 2 so I hope your friends are right and mine are wrong!

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 11/04/2012 21:31

So not just me then, wonder why it would be worse? Weird...

And I'm sure the 3rd is going to raise itself Grin

Good luck today Tickle!

Sorry the scan hurt Fish, I ddint know they ever had to press that hard... Sad

Not good if you have a full bladder!

bettybat · 12/04/2012 07:21

So excited for all of you!

Got mine today too - but my letter doesn't say anything about a full bladder! Should I have one...should I drink water? I don't know what to do now!

Gingerbreadlatte · 12/04/2012 07:44

Think you will be ok. I havent been asked to have a full bladder for mine in a couple of weeks.

I had an early private scan at 9wks and did have a full bladder then as requested... maybe its only required in early days when things are smaller.

It was painful as it was really full and she was pressing for ages but didnt hurt iykwim

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 12/04/2012 08:30

As far as I know you have to have a full bladder even for the 20 week scan. The advices a pint and a half an hour before your scan. Good luck Smile

Gingerbreadlatte · 12/04/2012 10:08

It doesnt hurt to have a full bladder. You can always be sent for wee but you cant quickly fill it up!
