I was losing weight with healthy eating/smaller portion sizes etc before I got pregnant. I'd lost about 6 stone, with another 6 stone to lose to get into normal BMI range. At my booking in appointment I had a bit of extra Christmas weight (day after boxing day).
Then over January and February, I lost quite a bit due to morning all day sickness. Maybe 11lbs.
Since then, I've put some weight back on, about 7lbs or so, which still leaves me 3-4lbs lighter than at booking in. I've just got to 25 weeks. I don't think I'd have put on quite so much at this point, if I hadn't increased my appetite whilst I had a lot of sickness, and got used to larger portions and some unhealthy food again.
I'm going to try and eat a bit healthier and maintain this weight for as long as I can without denying me/baby anything or being silly. Mainly by starting pregnancy yoga, aquanatal and eating less junk food.
I don't think I've put on any fat (I had plenty to begin with!) except perhaps in my breasts, but don't know how much of that is necessary for milk production! My wedding rings etc are looser than they were at the start of pregnancy, so I'm not worried that I've put on anything more than is genuine pregnancy weight. Kind of hope my first weight after baby will be less than I started out pregnancy with though obviously I'll have other things on my mind by then!
Want to get back into losing weight once baby is here and breastfeeding is properly established so that I can be the active mum I want to be and be more healthy for future pregnancies.
So I lost a bit, and am putting it back on slowly. Everyone's different.
