I'm 37+2 and he's always been a steady mover.but last night he was moving like crazy, seriously going MAD! Never felt him move so much.when I managed to fall to sleep, I was woken up again shortly later by extreme movements again. He's wiggling around this morning but not as wild as he was doing. There is a certain increase in movements and I'm just wondering whether that should be a concern? I know a decrease in movements is but is a sudden increase? Last night it actually felt like he was going to burst out of me!

My LO one doing this about a week or so ago I did start getting very worried....she was breakdancing in there and for minutes at a time. I am now 38 wks and she seems to have calmed down alot. One thing I can say is since then I have noticed alot of changes happening e.g. my boobs are sore and swollen, increase in discharge and slight swelling. I am wondering in my hormone levels have changed and thats what caused her few days of rapid movement??

If you are concerned phone your maternity unit and take their advice otherwise you will just worry.

ANY changes to their regular pattern needs checking. People often don't realise that this means increased as well as decreased movements.

A friend had increased movements suddenly and thankfully was checked out. And she needed to be! It's rarely anything I'm sure but you need to make certain.

confuzed90 · 06/04/2012 10:16

Phoned midwife..she said that increased isn't a concern its if their decreased. Told me to make sure that they don't suddenly stop. Thankyou all

Dd did this the night before I went into labour, she kept me up most of the night so I was exhausted! Maybe a sign that things are about to kick off Wink?

faintpinkline · 06/04/2012 10:28

DD used to do this when there were sudden changes in the weather - i still remember waking up to a thunderstorm to discover she'd gone crazy

confuzed90 · 06/04/2012 14:23

Thankyou for replying..well I now have extreme back pains which ar radiating into my hips.few cramps as well, had the feeling of an upset tummy. But nothing regular just my back pain. I have had a lot of pains and back ache throughout the pregnancy so not getting hopes up ! Lol

Ive been getting increases in movements for a couple of weeks now. MW's said the same thing about decrease only etc but sent me for monitoring twice as the baby's heart rate has been high when they checked.

We spent the afternoon at the hospital again today. He was wriggling around constantly for three hours & was tachycardic all that time Sad They have sent bloods & swabs for infection as aren't sure why its happening. I can feel he's not happy though. Go with your instincts you know your baby best.

stripeyZ · 06/04/2012 21:52

I'm 40 + 4 btw incase it's relevant.

RandomMess · 06/04/2012 21:54

Latest evidence is that increased movements should be checked out, please, please do not listen to your midwife saying that only decreases should be checked out. Ask for monitoring.

GoGoBananas · 07/04/2012 18:28

My friend was checked due to increased movements and clear tachycardia. She had a crash cs due to a cord issue. They were v lucky.

Increased movement which is sudden and notable SHOULD be checked.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 07/04/2012 19:08

We were in delivery on Thursday and I mentioned baby was moving less and after an internal to check I wasn't is labour she wasn't suprised as baby is so far down now that she could feel his head. 37wks tomorrow.

Always be on the safe side and get checked as you can never be too careful. xx

confuzed90 · 07/04/2012 19:43

He's calmed down now, back to his usual movements. Was just that night (posted this few nights ago :). I did have some paracetamols which contained caffiene so maybe it could of made him a bit energetic?
How are you Yummymummyyobe1? X

:) I'm ok..been for a good walk with DP and DS, was feeling very wet (tmi-sorry) checked myself and lost loads of gooey mucussy stuff..strange because doctor a few weeks ago told me I'd lost it already. Been feeling quite damp so going to keep eye out and maybe get checked out xx

confuzed90 any news is baby on the way/here? i am starting to think Harry is enjoying the game lets make mummy and dad think I am coming. xx

confuzed90 · 08/04/2012 18:15

I agree! He's not here yet..must be just teasing me! I've got a major increase in discharge (tmi-sorry!) Loads more gooey mucus stuff, bad back cramps this evening and pressure. But nothing hopeful. I really wanted an easter sunday baby! Oh well. Lol. Been for a long walk today and been a bit busy this afternoon, just thoroughly cleaned downstairs and going to get on hands and knees and scrub floors when DS is in bed.then relax in bath. I have some primrose oil capsules which I got yesterday. I won't take them orally but have been told to insert inside by my cervix.I tried last night and felt my cervix when was putting it in and was totally freaked out..felt flat and as though there was hard bone right behind it!thinking maybe babys head. It felt quite open so I quickly pulled (cleaned steralised finger) out and couldn't leave capsule in. Scared me lol. Not sure how its meant to feel but felt strange to put something on my cervix :/
