How do I know if my waters are leaking slowly?

Hi, I know I should call my midwife if worried and I will if I'm not sure later on, but how can I tell if my waters are leaking slowly? I felt very damp earlier and I had normal discharge and a larger damp patch. It definitely wasn't urine, but (tmi) I wasn't sure if it was waters or just moist from sweat Blush I have put a pad on and have heard people say that if you soak a pad an hour then the midwives want to see you but if I have some more but not much then should I be concerned. Surely if it is waters leaking then any leaking is a problem?

Hi, sorry, I never came back to this! Went to the assessment unit at the hospital, they diagnosed thrush. Yick. Anyway got given a canesten pessary to 'insert' and the discharge has calmed down for now, however they reckon I might have a urine infection as well which means taking antibiotics which means thrush again so hoping the test for that comes back clear. They had a big go at me in the hospital for not going in earlier, especially as I'm group b strep positive, so I'd advise anyone else with similar concerns to get checked out asap - it's probably nothing but better to be safe than sorry (and not cause yourself unnecessary worry!)

when my waters broke I had a sudden pain like a period pain whilst on the loo doing a big poo Blush. Even though I was at term it didn't cross my mind it was my waters. The clue should have been they trickled out when standing but stopped when on the loo (baby acts like a plug when sitting down apparently).

Aww I'm glad everything was mostly okay, I haven't had anything back to say that they found anything on the swab they took but I will give my gp a call tomorrow to check, as sometimes things don't get reported back too quickly! yellowflowers that's interesting about waters not leaking much when sitting down, it makes sense but I'd never thought of it
