Here is a panicky drama queen - at 6 weeks (ultra early, I know!), sore-ish boobs for the past two weeks. Have prepared for sickness - stocked up on crackers, white toastie, bananas. But nothing, not a hint. Worried, as with my last pregnancy, ended m/c :( i couldn't stop throwing up. Is it OK not to feel sick? Am I just tempting my fate?

I had no idea I wasn't the only worrier here, thanks ladies :)
alas, it didn't last - feeling nauseous and exhausted, not actually been sick. Yet.
On a different subject, how do you hide early pregnancy from a mum of three who is staying in your home for several days? Need some good excuses. Also, how do I not gag when cooking for 9 people for 6 days, including foods I've gone right off of. Arranged for this stay before knowing I was pregnant, now regretting it.

Matty I didn't know about the clot. We found out we were pregnant and then started bleeding a couple of weeks later. At scan was told bluntly that there was something in my womb but that it looked like retained product. That was it, very very blunt. The bleeding stopped and we were supposed to be deciding how to proceed about miscarriage. They checked my hcg levels and they continued rising so I had a further scan which showed a teeny tiny embryo with heartbeat measuring 2.9mm and the clot measures 3cm!

SunnyPie · 09/04/2012 18:47

Izzybizzybuzzybees, good luck with your pregnancy, my heart goes out to you, must be so upsetting!

Thanks sunny. I'm not very hopeful and neither are the midwives etc. I had a scan last week that showed baby measuring 8weeks2days and have another booked for when I'm 10+3 and then ny 13 week scan booked for after that!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 09/04/2012 18:51

Oops my 12 week scan

SunnyPie · 09/04/2012 20:02

I have crossed everything crossable for you izzy, and for me. It's horrible to worry about m/c, I had two before. I have also found the medics to be very blunt about it, one went as far as asking me what I was crying for :( I've got the added worry of having had a transplant grrrr... all i want to do is be happy and look forward to the baybeeee :) seeing the obstetrician on Wednesday, no scans booked but am hoping that he will do one anyway. good luck with yours x x

On the symptoms update - can't stop staring at my boobs - awesome, gone off meat (otherwise a sworn carnivore), gone off everything apart from fish and mash. awkward at breakfast table. most worryingly, booze smell makes me retch?! Nearly puked watching Come Dine With Me as one of the guys was chopping up liver. it's all very hilarious and long may it continue. give me 9 months of hugging the loo any time, prefer that to another m/c.

mattysmum09 · 10/04/2012 21:48

Ditto what sunny said:) everything crossed for you izzy! And us all who want something so badly we hardly dare hope for it.... I don't have the sore boob symptoms but then I'm stil breast feeding and i have no idea really whether that affects things. I've had mild to the extreme nausea and also car sickness which i never get so am symptom spotting there. I've also been really soppy to the point where when someone is nice to me it nearly makes me cry. going to do another test tomorrow and just see if its getting stronger....although if i didn't use first morning urine it might give an even better idea if its getting stronger....first tested a week ago and had faint line, surely should be strong line by now should it?

Figgygal · 10/04/2012 21:50

I was never sick or felt sick once it happens Grin

mattysmum09 · 10/04/2012 22:08

Well i may have baby brain;) went off to do my teast, chattering away to myself! Needed a wee ideal, got in bathroom did my wee then thought now what was it i came in here to do...? ah damn, testing in morning it is then maybe best to test same time again anyway to get an idea of if its getting stronger..lol

SunnyPie · 12/04/2012 10:39

Well, Matty? what's the news! I did three tests, the first one was such a faint pathetic little line you could only see it with eyes half closed under jet-strength light, but you know what they say - any line is a positive, however faint. Did one at six weeks, just to get a nice strong line, for keepers :)

First scan yesterday - at first we could only see the sac, oh no! then they whizzed me off to a 'better' machine, where one could just about make out a grey pixelated blob, HOWEVER!!! a heart beat!!! My little Dot's heart going like the clappers, although when he checked that it's not mine, it was almost as high as the Dot's, well dooooohhhh! I was over the moon, can't wait the next scan at 11 wks when I'm hoping for a clearer wave from within :)

Can't wait for news from Izzy, when is your next scan?

izzybizzybuzzybees · 12/04/2012 12:47

Hi sunny glad your scan went well. How far along did the scan make you?

I have my next scan 19th April, so a week today. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything is still as it should be :)

SunnyPie · 14/04/2012 20:20

izzy scan was too rubbish to tell, we could only see a few grey pixels so no proper dating yet, doing that on 11.5.

mattysmum09 · 15/04/2012 09:47

Hi all! Test in the morning had thick dark pink line!! so was thrilled and have a general ever so slight nausea and constantly cold stil. I had the pathetic faint lines at first and i get quite cross when my partner looks sceptical and tell him a false positive is v rare, any line means positive!!lol Rang EPU and have been given an appointment for reasurance scan due to past mc's week after next. 10 days away! As I'm only 5 weeks she thinks so no point looking yet. Think I'll be like you sunny your post got me welling up i know that feeling so well looking up at the screen praying to see something good. Let us know how you get on too Izzy fingers crossed for us all :)

SunnyPie · 15/04/2012 14:24

Good news there mattysmum09 :) i kind of knew about being preggers even though the first test was neg., i just went 'yeah, whatever', waited a few days and tried again.

hey, with previous m/c experience, isn't it amazing how much time one devotes to knicker-checking in early pregnancy! I took to wearing light underwear (TMI?) and bought a packed of white pantyliners to wear on days when I cannot avoid dark pants. Does everyone do that or am I just crackers? Blush

OP posts:
mattysmum09 · 15/04/2012 18:22

I try not to think about bleeding to be honest, although (and this will be TMI!) I woke in the night feeling a bit 'wet' and was just dreading putting the light on because i was sure it was going to be blood, it wasn't thank god. Strange thing is my first pregnancy which resulted in my lovely boy i had bleeding at the start and i didn't worry at all, after reading spotting was normal, i just carried on safe in the knowledge nothing would go wrong and it didn't but back then i didn't know how common mc's are....

SunnyPie · 15/04/2012 21:02

I know what you mean matty, I'm doing exactly the same things as am sure a lot of girls do! alas, there's nowt to be done but wait, maybe relax a bit in later weeks... around week 40, you reckon? :)

Symptom watch: tits on fire, tired, Mood Swings and Weepys (note capital letters), NOT SiCK! not even nauseous... hmmmm... this is either very very good, or very very bad Hmm

OP posts:
izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/04/2012 21:13

I knicker check all the bloody time! I seem to have loads of cm so when i wipe im sure itll be blood but none yet.

I have no nausea or sickness sunny i guess some people just dont. I was very sick with my DD and was signed off work due to it :( No real symptoms either but i hope everything is ok. Not long til my next scan.

SunnyPie · 22/04/2012 08:43

izzy!! how did the scan go??? I held everything so crossed it was hard to work, on the plus side less toilet trips!

Need to change the name of this thread methinks. Not been sick yet, but awfully nauseous, can't face ANY cooking, can't even tidy the kitchen after someone else has cooked, the smells just kill me. Having the weirdest meals, but at least keeping them down.

How is everyone else doing?

mattysmum09 · 22/04/2012 08:50

Hei Sunny glad to hear your symptoms are making themselves known (sounds horrible to say glad you feel rotten!but you know....) mine are too! Started with nausea one morning it just kicked in and literaly had to run for loo thinking was going to throw..
Definitely have nausea now which as horrible as i remember but positive sign, and reasurance scan on weds when i should be nearing 7 weeks!! so glad i dont just have to wait til 12 weeks to find out as i once did that only to be told baby died at 8 weeks, horrible but keeping positive now! Am not so nauseaus i cant cook but I will definitely hand the reighns over to hubby in the kitchen when i am! :)

bettybat · 22/04/2012 09:42

We should all spread the word more, that's all completely random, and there seems to be no correlation between healthy pregnancies and miscarriages.

Mine has been completely random throughout the day - extreme tiredness, nausea, heartburn, dizziness - and one symptom will come on very suddenly, stay for a while and then leave. I have been sick intermittently, but I've never experienced such intense spells of dizziness. Then randomly this morning at almost 15 weeks I just threw up all my breakfast!

My mum was like another person on this thread, retching while brushing teeth. But then with me, she had constant nausea all day. They shouldn't even call it MS - they should just call it You Will All Have Random And Different Pregnancy Symptoms!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 22/04/2012 11:33

sunny thanks for asking about the scan. It went well and baby measured 10+3 which is what my ov date puts ne at :) baby was waving its arms around in the air...so lovely to see.

I still have no symptoms really. Boobs a bit sore, and a couple of moments that have made me boke a little. Lucky I guess!

muddychipmunk · 23/04/2012 05:22

So glad to find this thread! It's 5 in the morning and I've woken up not feeling sick, and started panicking. Yes, I've done the knicker check Grin and everything's fine but I'm bouncing off the walls cos I don't feel sick. Had HG with DS and was sick every day, several times a day, and although I'm only 5+2, I've been throwing up already...

I do however, feel very dizzy.

Saw MIL yesterday and we told her cos my mum knows and I wanted to make sure the was no granny-favourite ism going on, and she just sniffed, said "you'll have your hands full then" and made sure we knew that she thought it was too early to have said anything. Hmm Was all excited and I guess I wanted a stand in mummy to be pleased for me, as my mums the other end of the country... Guess I have the Weepies n Mood Swings a la sunny pie Grin

mattysmum09 · 23/04/2012 16:50

You are definitely lucky Izzy:) as some people just dont suffer morning sickness so thats one less thing for you to contend with. Glad all looking good at your scan. I would worry if i didn;t have sickness though as I've suffered with it in every healthy pregnancy I've had, but now its kicked in I'm remembering just how horrible it is!Waking up feeling completely yucky every day then at random times during the day unless i eat a packet of crisps! I can get by just thinking its for a greater good and so worth it, and doesn't last that long, think it stopped by week 14-15 last time around but i do remember wanting to cry i felt so rotten before that and the tieredness got me down in early weeks, and now I'm worried how I'm going to cope with that along with a non sleeping toddler? sure it will be ok.... that made me laugh muddy, no granny favouritism! congrats though, and enjoy my morning sickness kicked in with avengance around 6 weeks!

SunnyPie · 27/04/2012 16:18

Not been on here much sorry guys, been too tired to lift a finger after work, let alone turn on the computer!

Argh, who said their baby died at 8 weeks?!?! How do you know if it does happen? Would symptoms go away or something! OH, was just starting to relax a teensy bit (9+2) apart from knicker checking, and now! Gotta wait till 11.5. for second scan izzy now aint that a scream, we'll compare the notes, hopefully with GRINS on our green, pukey faces... I'm soo happy it went well for you at the scan on 19. I'm hoping for waves next time as well.

Been feeling distinctly yuck, though only threw up once. I just took a packet of mince out of the freezer, and that was it, upchuck of the century. So, defo no raw meat prep/shop for/cook for me

Now, can i please ask a shy TMI question?! SHould i be worried at the amount of - erm, khem - stuff coming out of THERE. yes, there. It's at least twice as much as normal. Blush

matty I can't think of many worse things right now than not being able to get as much sleep as I want, so hat off to you lady, how you cope with a toddler I will never know. x
