This could be the start of labour, you know! It's exactly how I felt a few hours before mine kicked of 2 months ago today...

I posted on here at the time because I found it weird I couldn't stop eating. In my case it was my body getting ready.

Emsgale · 03/04/2012 22:31

ooohhhh I hope so!!!! I feel so ready in lots of ways just need the baby to agree!!
I got my.mum to come and help today as I just felt eeurrgghh and look like a pale ghost!!
the lead up to my labour with dd was so different much more spontanious but labour itself was very slow etc.

Emsgale, I could have written your post!

Yesterday woke up to upset tummy which has continued along with killer appetite, BH and backache!

I am due on Sunday, but said the same as your DH that I think its my body having a clear out before things get going!

Got my other three children off school for the holidays, 12,4 and 22 months so got enough to keep me busy and not analyse every twinge!

My eldest cant wait to inflate the birthing pool (planned homebirth)! I think it is def the start of something, nature is very clever just try and get some rest today, make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids and go with what your body is telling you.

Emsgale · 04/04/2012 09:43

morethemerrier yes my symptoms are still going strong apart from the bh have eased a bit this morning I really hope it is my bodys way of getting me ready and sooner ratger than later as its exshausting!! im due saturday so were just a day apart!
my mums here helping with dd who is 2 as im walking around like a washed out zombie!
justhayley thank you. once you get to 37 weeks your full term so it wouldnt be dangerous.

morethemerrier · 04/04/2012 10:01

I tend to get my strongest BH from about 9pm throughout the night, some strong enough to wake me but they don't turn into anything, but it all adds to the preparation!

When I was overdue with my 2nd DS and had a couple of false starts, a midwife put it much better, that with early labour its like trying to start a temperamental car, it ticks over so many times before something 'catches'! And off you go!

I think its exciting that you are noticing changes in your body, albeit a runny tummy is not something we would ordinarily welcome! It will be interesting to see what (and when) things do start for us, and if it was a sign of things starting!

Glad to hear your mum is helping you out, hopefully you will be able to get some sleep this afternoon, its a full moon on Friday, apparently that sets a sudden rush of labouring women, not sure how true that is! Hmm

In the meantime, I am going to potter, relax, eat, and enjoy as long as is left of what is my last (sob) pregnancy.

Emsgale · 04/04/2012 10:18

yes mine are at there strongest and regular from pretty much the same time too oh it feels so nice to know im not alone!!

when I had my dd the midwife said if theres a full moon it is always a absloute manic night for them!! maybe itll be friday then!?

what a good way to put it!
I dont know if its true but iv been told that the more on and off you are in the begining tbe shorter the main event is??!!
my dd's labour just started at 39 weeks no build ups etc but the labour was v long and fairly conplicated.

gosh reading this thread has made me realise there are a few of us in the same boat.

I'm 40+1 weeks had awful backache the last few days, loose bowels and a few irregular BH (so different to my first pregnancy). Trying everything from nipple stimulation, hot curries and walking to get things going - i may even have to resort to having sex as i am well fed up. All sorted for the homebirth so it's just a waiting game now.

Hope all goes well for you and the little ones make a safe, happy entrance to the world :)

Emsgale · 04/04/2012 18:23

hello ladies little update all symptoms the same but I think my wayers are leaking iv put a big pad on to be sure (doesthat sound right?)

OP posts:
morethemerrier · 04/04/2012 20:21

OOOhhhh Emsgale that is exciting! Mine started leaking with DC3, felt a trickle in bed went to the toilet had a wee, got back in bed and it wasn't until I got up a couple of hours later that I started to suspect it was my waters.

It continued throughout the day, I soaked tons of pads, and my bump went a funny shape!

Nothing more to report, had a frenzy of cleaning at about 5pm, hoovering dusting etc, and just had strong BH, baby been grinding down all afternoon!

Keep us updated! Grin

Emsgale · 04/04/2012 20:44

did your waters leaking kick of your labour or di you have to be induced??

well done you for having the energy to clean!!

OP posts:
morethemerrier · 04/04/2012 21:45

Waters started leaking at about 6am (remember waking to a 'twang' type feeling then the trickle!)

Contractions finally started at about 7pm, continued until exam at 12 midnight when was 3cm, straight after which things ramped up and DD was delivered in pool at 1.40am!

They had an oaty kind of cereal smell and had a slight tinge of yellow.

More gushed out if I lay down for a while, or changed positions, and when the contractions started it came out with each contraction!

How are you getting on?

Emsgale · 04/04/2012 22:35

im feeling ok not very eventfull still getting a light trickle! im pretty dissapointed I was exspecting somthing full on by now!?

OP posts:
morethemerrier · 05/04/2012 08:25

How are you this morning, not much going on here still got dicky tummy, was actually worse this morning, and also feel nauseous now!

My midwife told me it was probably my hind waters that went, and then as the head moves down it blocks of the cervix hence the trickle! I was waiting for the spectacular tidal gush but it never happened!

I have my three nieces coming for the day, so with my three its going to be a very busy and noisy day! The sun is shining so I plan a waddle to the park with them all.

Hope you have a nice day x
