13 weeks & slight bleeding

Ok, I had my dating scan last week & everything was fine - baby was having a good bounce around. Today I noticed a slight amount of pinky watery blood when I went to the toilet & when I got home from work, there was a little more, slightly darker. Very small amounts though.

My mw says it could be breakthrough bleeding (I am due my period around now) & to rest & see what happens.

My DH & I had sex last night & I did have a small amount of bleeding the following day when we had sex before so don't know if that's connected? I MC'd last year at 5 wks so am a bit worried

Hi
Just to reassure you I had small amounts of bleeding throughout my pregnancy and I now have a very healthy 9 month old DD. It's pretty common and is often just leftover blood that eventually makes its way out. It was often quite dark for me, almost brown (sorry if TMI).

I would say though that if you are worried, get it checked out. There are so many things to worry about when you are pregnant, and that is what they are there for. I ended up at the assessment centre more than once. But in the meantime, try not to worry but do call someone and get checked if it will put your mind at rest.

Thanks, it seems to have stopped now. I suppose I need to have faith that these things will happen & it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad.

Just to (hopefully) reassure you. I'm also 13 weeks and have had slight bleeding at least 8-10 times. For the first 3 times it happened (started when I was 6 weeks, so hadn't seen MW then) I went to the doctors - as you are always told to do and they were extremely laid back about it and told me not to worry and that it's very common.

I've even had a tiny bit of blood in the past few weeks off and on but am trying to go with what they told me (that it's common and not to worry unless it's accompanied by cramps/pain)

However, I also know that I get odd twinges, unusual feelings etc now - guess it's baby growing but I always try to think my body would tell me in no uncertain terms if something was wrong. This is not easy I know, as a non laid back person having my first baby, but definitely believe there's a lot to be said for trusting your own body. But would also say, contact docs or MW if in any way worried :)
