So I'm 36+5 and I have had a terrible sore throat for a little over a week now! Its accompanied by a cough which can't help...I did have a bit of a cold. Anyway I'm waking through out the night and when I get up in the morning it feels as though I've swallowed razor blades! I'm losing my voice because of it..basically I've had soothers which ease it a bit but not get rid. Would strepsils..just a few really hurt? I know not meant to have them but it hurts and why can't we have them? I haven't got tonsillitus...just inflamed..as it is accompanied with cough/temperature/headache

I would ask the pharmasist I had sore throat few weeks ago and they gave me something different but if I'm honest I had 1 and didn't like my throat being numb made me sick :(

strepsils are fine

I'm a nurse for the NHS, strepsils are fine during pregnancy.

I am a Pharmacist. Strepsils you can pick up off the shelf without asking for them are fine.

I had the same thing a few weeks ago and asked my midwife who said absolutely fine to take. There are more advanced strepsils that have an anaesthetic that I have heard are not ok, not sure if that is true though...
