Just out of interest really and a question for ladies on number 2 or more.

I am 10.3 with no2 and wandered if you experience pretty much exactly the same pregnancy symptoms as you did with your first you are more likely to have the same sex baby as DC1?

I am pregnant with DS3 and have had completely different pregnancies each time.

TheCunningStunt · 02/04/2012 15:10

Well with DS I was really...um....you know...I wanted sex all the timeBlush

With dd I turned into a cow and was really sick for 7 months. I ended the pregnancy lighter than when I started due to sickness. So very diff for me for each gender.

Dee03 · 02/04/2012 15:11

1st and 2 Nd pregnancy the same, had boys
3rd pregnancy totally different and another boy (different dad tho) Grin

Hmm interesting. Up to now i have been pretty much symptom free (and was feeling v happy about this) however in the past week BAM i have had sickness, nausea, sore boobs an horrifically moody - all the familiar symptoms I had first time round with DD (but with her they were from day 1)!

DS1 had no sickness at all, but very tired and sore boobs, went right off sweet things and chocolate, but couldn't get enough salty things like crisps, and weirdly, the smell of beer was a major craving...

This time around, nausea, sickness, still very tired and sore boobs, still loving sweet stuff and chocolate (although it has to be good choc, like green & blacks, cadburys tastes weird to me now!), marmite is about as far as it goes for salty-ish stuff and the smell of beer makes me feel sick. 20 wk scan confirmed (VERY clearly!) that this one is going to be DS2 - so pretty much opposite pregnancy, but same sex!

littlemissnormal · 02/04/2012 21:08

I'm preg with DS2 and have a DD too, all 3 pregnancies different.
The main difference being no symptoms at all this time until 20 weeks whereas with DS1 I was sick and felt awful!

TheNewMrsC · 02/04/2012 21:21

I've been thinking the same thing steben I'm 8+3 with dc2 an this pregnancy could not be more different so I've now got myself convinced I'm having a boy this time !! But then my mum had two completely different pregnancies and had two girls ?

justlemonade · 02/04/2012 21:21

I'm pregnant with DD2 and the pregnancies couldn't have been more different. First time I was in a right state being sick, aching, crying all the time etc. This time I'm as fit as a flea (so far - fingers crossed).

Same as Wilts above

BikeRunSki · 02/04/2012 21:23

Two v similar pg, hospitalised with hyperemisis several times in both. Have a b and a g.

WinkyWinkola · 02/04/2012 21:24

Ds1 and ds2 and this current pgy have all seen me very nauseous, weak and generally in a bad way for first timester.

Pgy with DD was a breeze.

Completely different with all 3 and the same sex each time. I wanted pickled onions with the first (DS) so when I wanted rice pudding with the second I assumed it was a DD -it wasn't.

PavlovtheCat · 02/04/2012 21:56

hg in both, 1 x boy, 1 x girl.

steben · 03/04/2012 08:13

No telling then is there! Haha, my cravings are definately similar this time round but will have to wait and see :)

Hi I am on DC 4. DS1 and DS2 were similar in that indigestion didn't start until later and I didn't feel that sick. With DD1 I was much more sick and the same this time with indigestion from start. Still have feeling this will be a boy though!

Flightty · 03/04/2012 08:58

God it seems completely random doesn't it Grin

I have had two boys, different fathers, and with both of them I felt very ill from about week 5/6 to about week 20, with a bit of an improvement around week 14.

I'm not sure whether to hope for a girl this time or another boy...could be WORSE with a girl Shock

or could it be any worse, yes, I think it probably could.
Hmm...or a girl might make it all better. Who knows.

exoticfruits · 03/04/2012 08:59

I would say completely random.
