Best place for a bra fitting?

Hi can anyone advise where is best to go for a bra fitting when pregnant? I've never had a good experience at M&S whilst not pregnant. Also I'm only 14 weeks so my size will probably change again but I'm too big for my own bras now & need to get it sorted! I'm not sure if my cup size is big enough for bravissimo.

Depends on the fitter, had an awful experience with a fitter in debenhams, Birmingham bull ring, but went a few months later, different fitter, who was fab, I even sent a letter and a thankyou card to the store for the amazing service. I have also had good and bad service at m&s, mothercare, la senza. Try to go on a weekday, you're more likely to get a ft member of staff, with experience, rather than a pt hungover student.

do it yourself! make sure the underband is good and close fitting so that the band lies straight and doesnt ride up in the middle. The underband is so important to get right!

Once you have that spot on then you need to make sure the cups cup you fully and firmly, they should never be floppy and never too tight so that they cut into breast tissue at the side, or make you have the 4 boob effect.

I found that the girl in Debenhams was actually quite good, M&S are crap at it!

Bravissimo is best if you are DD or bigger or you think you have gone up to D/DD size range. If not John Lewis. Definitely NOT Mothercare or Marks and Spencer.

Anyone who uses a tape measure and then insists the tape measure is right even though the bra is patently too loose in the back and too small in the cup just by looking at it is a rubbish bra fitter.

I'd recommend John Lewis too.

A trained corsetier will be able to tell your cup size just by looking at you and will only need to measure your back.

M&s are absolutely rubbish. They aren't trained properly as far as I'm concerned and try and put people in ill fitting bras.

M&S are rubbish, they tried to put me in horrid granny 'snoopy ear making' bras. They didn't fit either and tried to argue that now I'm expecting I wouldn't want wonderbra type underwear.

I'm pregnant not a frump and I am ALL about the uplift.
If you've been wearing something like a C cup you can always go to Bravissimo and explain you're not sure of your size any more as you've changed so much and could they take a look. They do it by sight so even if you're too small for them they'll tell you roughly what sizes to go try elsewhere based on the fitting of your current bra.

I had good experience at House of Fraser. Marks and Spencer utterly rubbish!

If you're a D or bigger (and you might be now), I had a really good experience at Bravissimo a couple of weeks ago - they had a whole different way of measuring during pregnancy that involved doing the back up on the tightest rather than the loosest hooks and leaving some room in the cups for further growth, seemed to really know what they were talking about. And their stuff is really nice!

Your local NCT branch might have a bra fitter too, they usually carry a pretty good range and different sizes. I got mine fitted there last pregnancy and she advised on what styles would suit my shape as well as the sizing.

If you find your local branch on the NCT website they should have details of the fitter.

Thanks there's a Bravissimo next to work, I'll go in this week & failing that I'll go to JL. Need to do something this week as I'm so uncomfortable.

I went to Bravissimo a few weeks ago to buy pregnancy bras. They fitted me with the bras on the loosest hooks, saying that they would get bigger with washing. Well they haven't yet, and I have grown so they are already cutting in to me. Make sure they don't try this with you OP! The bras are great, and the staff were very friendly, but I am going to have to go back very soon unfortunately - a pain as there isn't a shop near me and I made a journey especially to go there.

I now avoid any chain stores. I have a favourite lingerie shop now in town, it's only small and is run by 2 sisters. They don't use tape measures at all, they just look at what you are wearing and can tell what size you are. Then they are very good at letting you know which bras give you the best shape. Not particularly useful to you unless you live in the North West, sorry.
