Hi, I am after a "this is normal" response please if you can oblige please...

I have a weird sensation in my vagina, particularly after I have been sitting a while and stand up. It feels as though things are really swollen and heavy and like they might drop down and fall out at any minute.

DH says that things feel totally normal to him, but its just a little worrying for me. I have been doing some (but defiitely not enough) pelvic floor excercises so I shouldnt be totally weak and floppy down there. This is my third pregnancy and I have never experienced this before, apart from after giving birth for the first couple of weeks with my first child.

Anyone? :)

How far on are you? I'm 39+3 and have been getting that for weeks.

TinkerMaloo · 31/03/2012 15:14

I'm only 17 weeks, its been feeling this way on and off for a couple of weeks now..

I've had it too, I'm 19 weeks. I think it's my pelvic floor or lack of it as I've experienced it after hauling round my 5yo DD who's broken her leg.

I've been getting this since 2nd trimester - am now 38 weeks. I presumed it was weight of the baby plus weak pelvic muscles from spd as it's particularly bad on getting up and going to the loo after I've been relaxing (or sleeping) in the same way my spd is bad. It sorts itself out in the same way my spd gets better after walking around a bit. Will just make sure I do loads more pelvic floor exercises after the baby's here.

I've had a similar thing during periods and am sure will get it at end of this pregnancy- in my case its pelvic venous congestion

Thanks for the repsonses :) I think I will just have to work a bit harder at doing my pelvic floor exercises and hopefully that should imporve it... I'll also mention it to the midwife when I see her next
