Stitch-like burny pain in my bump

I am 27 weeks, I started having a stitch type pain just to the left of my navel in my bump today. It's quite sore especially when I stand up/walk. It eases when I bend over or sit/lie down.

I rang the midwife at teatime and she asked some questions. Had I exerted myself (a bit but more shopping/driving/then studying/babysitting nothing majorly physical) so I said no. She asked was I breathless, I said not really, I have a bit of asthma but it's not playing up atm. Was the baby moving, yes and I had a big pizza for dinner.

Anyway she said to take 2 paracetemol and see how I am in the morning. I took those at about 7 this evening and rested on the couch. I've just come up to bed and the pain is still sore when I move/walk/stand up.

I'm in bed and feeling ok now but I'm a bit worried. The midwife said it's probably the top of the uterus stretching.....

I got that a couple of times on my first pregnancy, it lasted about a day and then my bump grew...so I'd agree with the MW.

I never got it with my second, clearly I was pre-stretched Hmm lol

To reassure I remember contacting the mw with the same type of pains when I was pg with my 1st dd.
It is probably fine, you start to get all sorts of aches and pains as the pg goes on. But just call the mw again to it you're mind at rest. There will be a number for someone to talk to any time.

Thanks to you both. I will just rest and keep my eye on it. Thanks

I'm 30wks with dd2 and have had similar pain to you I think for the last week or so, does it feel a bit like a stitch? Mine does. It's not there all the time just when I get up/sit down etc and I dont remember it with my first two tho Confused

I put it down to stretching. Hope yours is better soon Smile

I get this when I have been walking too quickly or rushing about. Occasionally when I change position too quickly. It always eases when I put my feet up and rest for a few mins

I've been getting this more frequently too. I think it's round ligament pain? It's especially sharp if I make a twisting movement in bed or if I sneeze.

Thanks all, hope you are all feeling better soon! Yes, it's definitely like a stitch or pulled muscle. Kind of burny/stretchy. I think it's definitely from rushing around and moving about a lot and lifting too many things.

I felt a lot better this morning after a nights sleep. I got it again when I went to the supermarket but not as badly and DP was there to do the lifting, packing and driving. Hmm
