Recommendations Please - Pram

Am around 30 weeks with DC4. I need to think about buying a pram. icandy looks wonderful but as much I'd like to don't want to be spending a lot on this LO. Any suggestions for a decent pram please folks that isn't too expensive? My eldest will be 6.5 and youngest will be 3.10 so don't think I'll even need a buggy board.

Love my Britax B-smart 3. Perhaps a bit big if you have a small car, but generally I have no complaints. Has done from birth to nearly 2y with my DD.

the mamas and papas luna is pretty good, its versatile with the carrycot attachment, but its not forward facing once they are sitting up in the pushchair, which can be a bit of a downside... also it tends to tip quite easily on buses when the driver puts his foot down hard/brakes quickly.

Comes in a good range of colours and pushes really nicely, folds up quite small and isnt too heavy. Decent sized basket too.

Its reasonably priced though so as long as you remember the couple of flaws then its worth considering.

You can pick them up pretty cheap second hand too if you really want to save some cash!

Second recommendation for B-Smart 3 from me. I've no complaints. Can be used from birth without a carrycot, has a lovely big extending hood so keeps baby out of the sun and is really sturdy. Is a bit big in a car boot though! Also it is very good value if you shop around, I got mine brand new in the sale for £135 but they do come up on ebay so if you don't mind buying used its a great way to save money!

Not a Quinny Buzz. Not sturdy enough to be a truly fifty tufty pushchair, but too big for shops and towns. And generally a pain in the bottom.

I have a mamas and papas sola I love it and it gets fab reviews also has seat unit,.carrycot or car seat option on chasis.

iv not had one myself but I know mothercares my4, my3 or spin get really good reviews and are resonable in price I see lots of people with them!!

Mamas and papas ora, love it. DD is 22months and still plenty of room. Tbh, any mamas and papas are great value for money.

I have a sola. It's been pretty good but mamas and papas customer service is appalling. The car seat weighs an absolute ton and the foot muff is fairly rubbish. It pushes well though, has decent sized basket and lies flat so you don't need to buy the separate carry cot. Not brilliant if you're tall because it, like a lot of pushchairs, has a bar that increases the height by flipping it up, bringing you closer to the axel which isn't great with long legs. Most of the extendable bars are found on the expensive pushchairs like the iCandy and bugaboos though.

My4 has an extendable handle. No need for extra carrycot. DD used it til two and a half when she no longer needed a buggy. Only downside is small basket.

I have a pliko pramette from mamas and papas, it's seen me through my previous 2 DCs and is in great condition ready for number 3!
My only gripe is that I wasn't allowed it in pink as DP refused to push it if it wasn't black!!

I have a city mini jogger . It is brilliant - it is really easy to take in the car as it folds with one hand - tilts up for when they are bigger too.

I've just ordered the silver cross surf I have 2older ones 6 and 4 so I won't need a buggy board either it's suitable from
Birth but pricy I got a nrly new one on eBay for £200 leas and comes in loads of different colours seems to b pretty popular too !

I love my spin. The prammet converts into the pushchair seat so no need for a separate carry cot. Plus you can change from forward facing to rear face opr vice versa on the move with baby in it therefore baby is never in the sun.

I've just bought a mothercare my3 in hex red, as it's on special offer at the moment, £300, rather than £370 (not including car seat) usually £500 with car seat, but we got it all in for £400, plus another £20 off with a pushchair voucher from joining their baby club thingy!

Just to add the Oyster is fab but if you usually have big children you might want to avoid it. My son is almost 14 months and he won't be able to fit in it that much longer I expect. Other than that, I'd highly recommend it as it is ff and pf and will fold in either mode. Plus it is very easy to push, isn't particularly expensive and looks pretty :o

mamas and papas now do a lighter wwight car seat thats great (like weight of maxi cosi) so much better I think all there pushchairs/prams are good!

Another vote for the mamas and papas Sola here. I love mine.

I've had two problems with it and was prepared for the notoriously bad customer service but have to say was pleasantly surprised.

On one occasion one of the wheels fell off. We had to take the chassis back to a store for them to send it off for repair but gave us a courtesy chassis in the meantime. When ours was returned to us it had been fully serviced and they had sorted out not just the wheel but the slightly sticky fold down mechanism as well. Was very pleased.

On the second occasion, the handle at the back of the seat that you use to lower the seat back down came off. Went into store to complain and they swapped the whole seat unit for a brand new one there and then without any questions. We'd had the pram over a year by this point too so I don't think it was still covered by their standard warranty (and they would have known this because they checked our order record on their system).

Albeit that we've had those two problems, I've been very happy with the Sola. It's light and easy to put in the car boot, very easy to fold down and can be easily handled one-handed. I used it with the maxi cosi pebble car seat. DD is nearly 18 months and it's still loads big enough for her. We used the seat unit from birth because it lies flat so didn't have to fork out for a carrycot and overall have no complaints.

We've just bought a second hand iCandy Peach from eBay. Always a bit risky, but like the OP, fell in love with it - esp the colours! (sweatpea).

If new, it would've cost over £900 for the footmuff and parasol as well. We paid £350 and it's pretty much immaculate. Few scratches on the chassis and some marks on the apron of the carrycot (which you can buy new from the icandy website for £22, if you wanted).

Obviously you can't guarentee what you'd get, but it's worth having a look on eBay if you know what you want.
