Just wondering if there are others out there and if you've discussed birthing choices? Had different convo's with MW and consultant and interested to share your stories :)

Yes I've been on them since 6 weeks pregnant (40mg a day low dose) due to antiphospholipid syndrome.

It shouldn't make that much difference to birth choices in my case, the only difference is that they will induce at 40 weeks instead of 42.

Hi KatAndKit!

Have also been told my be induced a couple of weeks early. heard different stories about epidurals (whether they'll administer it) seems to depend on dosage and when the last jab was! Did they talk to you about what happens if you need c-section?

:)

They have told me to not do my clexane the evening before my induction. There needs to be a 12 hour gap between clexane and epidural. I do mine in the evening so there will already have been a 12 hour gap when I arrive at the hospital so nothing to worry about there. If I go into labour naturally before my date, I have been told to not take clexane as soon as contractions start. But I'm hoping if it happens naturally not to have an epidural. If I end up being induced with syntocinon i will definitely want one.

I've been told I'll be on clexane after the birth for a bit anyway but if it ends up in a c-section it will be for six weeks :(

Hi, been on clexane for all of this pregnancy and last due to antiphosolipid syndrome. Last time I was told to stop the clexane and Asprin at 38 Weeks but was let go to 42 Weeks before they induced me (not my choice, I had to change hospitals quite late and an admin error at the hospital and an inexperienced registrar meant I wasn't put on the high risk list). DD was ok but a lot smaller than she should have been for two Weeks late. I had a syntocin drip and an epidural and it was great, DD born in 3 hours of the drip going in. This time I will be induced at 38 Weeks. I will come of the Asprin and the clexane the day before I am scheduled to go in. I plan on another epidural as it made dd's birth so incredibly chilled out and midwife has told me they likely will go straight to the syntocin this time as they expect my cervix will be quite unripe at 38 Weeks. Have scheduled a sweep for a few days before in the hope of beginning the ripening process but I won't hold my breath.
