im 9 weeks and 5 days and saw my iccle bean dancing around this morning but they have found a large size cyst also ,just wonder'd if any body else also has had any cyst's and what was done and how it effected your pregnancy ??

i was sure i must have been having twins as my belly is massive and my belly buttons allready nearly popping out , but its down to the size of my cyst :S

Not sure if they told you the size of the cyst, I had one of 5cms on my ovary that was picked up at early scans. I was told not to worry, only very rarely do they keep growing. I had lots of early scans and it was growing slightly bigger each time but by 20 week scan nobody mentioned it again.

So I would say don't worry at this point, if they are worried they will get you in for more scans.

Hi OP congrats on your dancing bean!

I had massive cysts on both my ovaries after ivf treatment, they were picked up at 8 weeks when I fainted because I was in so much pain. One ovary was 20 cms big because of them! The Drs were pretty relaxed about them though as they said the rising progesterone levels often sort cysts out and like the previous poster, mine had disappeared by 20 weeks.

I don't know if my cysts are different because they were caused by the ivf drugs but they got significantly better at around 11 weeks and by my 12 week scan they had shrunk to only just bigger than normal.

Hope it's not causing you too much pain?

I was told I had a few on my overies including a big one at 5 weeks - the size is on my early scan report but can't remember now to be honest. I had really bad cramps - hence the early scan and they said it could have been due to the cysts but since then iv had no mention of them and no problems. Did get really bad water retention until 15 weeks - looked 23 but not sure if that had anything to do with it.
Try not to worry if they thought it was serious they would be telling you more.
Congratulations on your pregnancy Smile

I had an 11cm cyst which was found at 9 weeks also. They didn't want to remove it until the point where the placenta had taken over in case it was the corpeus lutem cyst which feeds the baby during the first trimester. I was certain it wasn't as I had been having pains for 6 months on and off. In the end they put a giant syringe into my belly when I was 12 weeks and drained it but I was in huge amounts of pain at this point. After that everything was fine with the pregnancy and the bits of leftover cyst were gone when I had another scan 6 months after he was born.

I've had a cyst on the ovarie that I ovulated from with all of my pregnancies, currently on 4th. The sonographer has always told me this is perfectly normal and they disappear by the end of my pregnancies.

Good grief AngryFeet that sounds grim.

Not when pregnant but 6 years ago I had a 20cm cyst that was removed and weighed 4lb. I did not lose an overy(although had to sign to say they could remove if needed) and am now on pregnancy number 2. No problems with falling pg and the scar from the op (belly button down into bikini line) was no problem with first pregnancy and consultant the other week was surprised how neat it looked baring in my how much it had stretched!!! Try not to panic they will do what is best for you and baby

I had a 7th cyst at 6 weeks. They said they would just keep an eye on it - it was the same size at 9 weeks and 12 weeks. At 20 weeks it was nowhere to be seen Smile As many have described above, they are quite common, and often go away on their own.

I had a cyst with DS1 - i think about 8cm. No one seemed too bothered by it.
In hindsight and comparing to this pregnancy 29 weeks - i did have a lot more pain and cramps with DS1 in my left side.
HOWEVER... following my emcs they decided to remove it there and then - and I could feel so much pain when they started they had to give me a general anaesthetic to knock me out. Luckily got to see DS before that happened.
I am glad in the long run though that i had a CS and they could remove it as I may had have to have an operation anyway!!
I'm not saying you should try and opt for CS but if it happens its not necessarily the worst option if they can remove it at the same time.
