27 weeks and my shoes don't fit!

My feet seem to have spread quite significantly and I have had really puffy ankles over the last week (thanks to the hot weather I think). I am normally a size 8, so have big feet anyway but now that my current shoes are not fitting properly, I am struggling to find suitable replacements. Does anyone have any suggestions? I cannot wear open toe/backless styles when i'm at work.

No suggestions I'm afraid but a lot of sympathy! I'm loving the sunny weather for the fact that my poor feet can be in flip flops rather than squeezed in my high shoes and boots. Even my Uggs are too tight Sad

To control the swelling a bit, I find loads of water and a homeopathic remedy called cal Mur both help me. And keeping the feet raised, but I know this is easier said than done throughout the day!

Just try any sort of pump style shoes preferable made from material so they have a bit of strech. New look do your size and have a wide fit section. Will your work not make an exception because you are pregnant. Def raise your feet in the evening when you sit down also do some foot ankle excersies this helps its where you circle your foot around ten times for each one and then stretch your foot forwards likea ballet foot and bring it back as far as you can do this ten times for each foot as well I found it really helped killed to do it but defo bought puffness down straight away

I invested in Ugg boots. They are bliss. I am also using men's socks. I noticed the swelling comes and goes.

You are lucky to have lasted til 27 weeks! I had to go out and buy new shoes at 20 weeks - but I practically live in flip flops these days (sorry not helpful). Would recommend buying new shoes with a bit of give or even half a size bigger than you need right now.

I'd suggest a visit to Evans' shoe department. They have quite a good selection of wide-feet shoes. New look also have some wide feet shoes (but the shoes aren't quite as wide as Evans, so depends how swollen your feet are).

one of the best kept secrets of pregnancy is that your feet may never go back to their original size Shock
It happened to me... :( And also to Denise...

I was just googing '21wks +Puffy feet' as mine seems to have expanded like dough out the sides of my fitflops... very uncomfortable.

I don't have any suggestions about shoes (sorry), but from googling the tips that came up were to drink lots of water, put feet up as much as poss (on footrest at work), not to eat salty stuff and to sleep on left side... Confused
Not sure if any of that will be any help whatsoever, but thought I'd pass it on.

susie doing those exercises right now... thanks for that tip! :)
Good luck ellesbell hope you find some which fit..

Babycameearly · 29/03/2012 17:23

Iwent from a 4 to a size 7 clarks Triple E fit by week 11! Only shop I found. Just been into Primark though and they now do wide fit up to size 9 (nice and comfy too) so you could try there??

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 29/03/2012 17:25

OP mine never went back. I am now a size 9 at least and can never find shoes that fit!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 29/03/2012 17:25

I should mention that my youngest is now almost 6 years old!

ellesbell · 29/03/2012 18:47

Thanks for all the suggestions but am slightly alarmed at the prospect of permanently increasing a shoe size (taking me to a 9!!) The things you are never told!
