28 week blood tests - call or not?

erm is this a silly question, i have my 28 week appnt last week and don't know if i need to call them for the blood test results or if they call me if a problem, or if we discuss them at my 31 week appnt? can't seem to work it out, I know i can just call and ask, but what did you do?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Here they write/ call quite promptly if there is a problem, so I've never bothered to call. But if you're particularly worried about something then probably worth giving your midwife a call for peace of mind.

Here they would phone me if there was a problem. Usually they just confirm at the next appt that everything was OK, I've never had anything come up in the tests. If you're worrying though, give them a ring.

I've got these tests coming up at my next appointment, and was wondering the same. I know one of them is for anaemia, but what else do they check this time?

Catsycat · 28/03/2012 21:35

I think it is red cell antibodies and anaemia. Having looked in my notes, I've just noticed the results from my 28 week tests aren't in there - hope the mw just forgot to put them in last week - will ask her on Monday!

McPhee · 28/03/2012 21:50

Ah I see, thank you. I bloody hate needles....wuss alert Grin

surfmama it just gets worse I forgot how old I was the other day, pretty much had to pull my socks off to use my toes in order to work out how I'd managed to age less years since I got married than the number of years I'd been married Blush

Furry, once I have this baby, I may have to start referring to my DC as numbers 1, 2 and 3. I already call 1 and 2 by the wrong names half the time! You're right, it does only get worse!

arr well you should have seen my face when the mw called today, complete panic that something is wrong. Actualy my panic is that I will hve to take lots of nasty drugs or something, anything i can fix with a spell or hocus pocus is fine. anyway, iron levels are low and have shunned the 'plastic' iron tablets that I can get for free and have just spent £20 on some water in a sachet that has natural iron in it. ha ha made my DP laugh,,,,, not. anyway am allowed to try the spatone for a few weeks and have a retest, oh my poor mw! Furry I have been like that since my 20's (too much herbage I put that down too in my youth!)
