Almost 8 mths - strange sensations in lower down area

Hi, I am pregnant with DC#2, due end of April, and recently have been experiencing mild pain and uncomfortableness quite low down. It doesn't feel the same as the baby's kicks, stretches etc. The midwife who is giving the antenantal classes I'm attending says that pain around the vaginal area can be due to pressure/weight. Y'day evening I had some sensations which got me a bit worried, like "something" was starting to happen. I'm supposing it's natural, maybe just the baby moving down gradually (hopefully). I scrutinised my bump last night and it didn't appear to have "dropped". I'm really gonna have to get my hospital bag ready!!! Has anyone had similar and knows what it could be? Should I get my bag ready TODAY??

Yes I've had this past few weeks..I'm 36 weeks pregnant. So due 25th april. Around same time as u. I think its pressure and nothing to worry about.I've noticed some days its worse then others.also, you are more likely to dilate to a couple of cms early on . Confirmed I was 1-2 cm last week. I'm on 2nd DC.but I would definatly recommend getting your bag ready!

Thanks confuzed! Started getting organised a little y'day afternoon and will continue today by going shopping for nighties, BF bras etc. But I think you're right, it's prob just pressure/weight. I have my last antenatal class this afternoon too so I can ask the midwife about it again. Good luck with these last few weeks and hope all goes OK for you! What age is your 1st, btw? Boy or girl? & #2, do you know the sex?

Same here MW advised it was baby getting into position. Our LO's will be here soon enough. I always think of Harry with a miners lamp and canary ready to find his way out of mine.

Make sure you are both getting plenty of rest. xx

Lol how old is DS1? I've been college all day.. Plus DS1 doesn't have naps anymore...awful when they stop..no break! Lol

My boys both did a horrible thing when I was pregnant where they sort of ground their heads downwards. It was painful and uncomfortable. Kept thinking it would get things started, but one was on day and one was late, so you never know.

Hang in there, I found the last bit of pregnancy hideous. Won't be long now and your baby will be in your arms. Good luck!

ThatllDoPig I think I know what u mean!! When I feel him wiggling around sometimes ill get a really sharp pain in what feels like my cervix.happened 2minutes ago lol. Midwife said its baby wiggling his head knocking my cervix!strange to think he's that low! Never felt it with DS1

My DS was 3 at the beginning of the year. I'm lucky coz he still goes to childminder AND still does naps. So I even get a break at the w/ends! Don't know for #2 if girl or boy. I kinda think it's a girl, but suspect that could be more wishful thinking than anything else. So for past few weeks have been telling myself it's a boy to try & avoid any feelings of disappointment. Helps that my OH has granted me my first choice of boy's name!! But coming back to feeling it's a girl very recently. We shall see & very SOOOOON!! [Getting all excited now]
