Exposure to anaesthetic gas during pregnancy

Hi all,

I'm 6 weeks pregnant. My daughter had to have an anaesthetic today, and she had a gas induction. I didn't think and went in with her - and had my face near hers so breathed in quite a bit of gas. I've just been googling the effects and have scared myself - though most of the research seems to be about occupational exposure. Anyone know how scared I should be as a one off? Dd needs another anaesthetic on 6 wks - will send her dad in for that one!

Thanks for any advice...

I was exposed to anaesthetic gases ( occupationally) throughout all three of my pregnancies. Modern operating theatres are well ventilated and there is no problem.

I have three healthy DSs Grin

Thank you very much - that's reassuring.
