Anyone else experincing this? (sex prob)

I am just going into my third trimester now. But ever since I've become pregnant my DH can't penetrate me I don't know why I want him to, tried a few different positions but no joy. It's like my vagina is closed/clamped tight shut.

I haven't heard of this or read about it anywhere. Seems weird.

I feel a bit sad about it, we are both missing it.

I haven't experienced this myself, but I have heard of a condition called vaginismus which is where the muscles tense up making penetration impossible. I'm afraid I don't know much more about it, but at least the name should be somewhere to start. Have you mentioned it at your midwife appointments, or to your doctor?

Yeah this happened to me its because your babies low. I couldnt have penetrative sex about 35/36 weeks and my midwife told me I was very low. Then when I saw her last week apparently babies can move up and move out of position so I am back to 4/5thsengaged and been having sex as normal. I didnt get this last pregnancy and I agree it is very annoying!

Thanks both of you, molly this is going on since maybe 12 weeks ! I haven't said it to the midwife, too embarassed! Could a baby be lying low that early?

Donkey, thanks I had heard of vaginismus and thought about that but it doesn't seem to be something that just comes during pregnancy from what I read, it seems to be more a lifelong condition...

Maybe not then closedforbusiness. With me we didnt know the baby was low but DH just couldnt get it in and that week I was told I was really low. We didnt have penetrative sex for a couple of weeks thinking it would still be like it but now we are near the end its gone the other way. Weird!
