High Heart Rate?

My Heart feels as though it is beating too fast, just checked my pulse and it is around 125bpm. I 'm not doing anything energetic, just sat at my desk at work.
Im also feeling a little out of breath, not too bad, can still talk properly etc.
Do you think its worth a trip to the docs? If so it will have to be an emergency appointment.

Oh and im 33 weeks pregnant.

125 bpm is (just) within normal range for a pregnant woman. Personally, I'd see if it improves in the next 30 minutes or so and if not then call NHS Direct. Probably worth mentioning at your next appointment regardless. If you feel worse then obviously call the doctor.

Thats a little more reassuring, is it normal for it to come on out of the blue like this?
Never really felt my heart beating like this before.

Could be related to being slightly dehydrated, caffeine, might be slightly anaemic. As I said, if it carries on or gets worse get it checked out.

Are you feeling any better?

No not really, Think I might give NHS direct a call see what they have to say.

You may be getting a bout of SVT iv had it for 10 years but it's very common to appear in pregnancy. Try and take some deep breaths - also have u tried walking very slowly around and changing position? Baby may just be pushing against your lungs, mine does this and it's horrible, feels like i cant breathe SadAvoid caffeine which will raise your heart rate - that includes coffee chocolate & green tea.
How long have you been feeling like this?
I would also give NHS direct or/and ur midwife a call if over 45mins to an hour. Also very important ....you should leave work early enjoy the sun & relax Grin

Hope you feel ok soon x

Hi there, im in my 22nd week, and mentioned to my MW at last apt that I thought my heartrate was high, I have had this my whole life i think, but i wanted to check it was'nt harming me or baby, ( i have had 1 healthy baby & nat birth before ) .
My hr was 106 so she got a ecg done at docs which showed no strange rhythms just a sinus tacacardia, ive been reffered to Maternity hospital , as Mw said better to get it checked, im going on weds, it is quite scary , & think my HR goes higher when im at docs , typical, I would advise you to just go check with your MW, and rest up & avoid Caffeine x

Well i rang NHS direct and they told me to go straight to A&E.

My bp was over 140bpm at one point in A&E. But im back home now with a slighty slower heart rate.

They're just going to monitor me closley over the next few weeks but they're not immediately concerned as my ecg showed a normal but fast rhythm.
