Hi all my names matt and im a dad posting on this site,3 weeks ago my wife tracey found out she was pregnant with our third child, shortly into the first week she started spotting red blood,it wasnt enough to make it to her underwear and was only when she wiped, she also found a few tiny clots, this bleeding only lasted a few hours but we arranged an appointment with the early pregnancy unit, tracey had a scan done and altho the sack could be seen in her uterus there was no sign of baby, now we thought that tracey was about six weeks pregnant, but up untill a couple of months ago she was always very regular, the last two months her cycle have been all over the place,so after telling the doctor this we was told that maybe she isnt as far gone as she thought, and if she was only four to five weeks then they wouldnt be able to detect a baby just yet anyway, since that appointment tracey has had a few days of bleeding, again not much only when she wipes and this time its a brown color, she has no cramping and doesnt seem to be in any pain, she still has all the symptoms of being pregnant but its driving us crazy not knowing,we have another scan and check up booked for this thursday so fingers crossed, its taken us almost a year to conceive and it would devastate us if we lost the baby, were freaking out because tracey had none of these problems with our last two pregnancys, has anyone else had this sort of experiance or does anyone know anything about why she could be having this brown blood...thanks in advance and godbless all you lovely mums out there

Very quick post as didn't want to read and leave. Brown blood is old blood and often on its own is nothing to worry about. I had it this pregnancy and still have a HB and am 9weeks. Also had it with DD, however to give you a balanced view it has also been the start of a MC but tends to turn painful and red. However nothing will tell you for sure except a scan to see if it had developed as expected and maybe Tests to check hormones doubling. Sorry it is a waiting game and it sucks but other peoples experience may help you a bit. good luck, I hope it works out for you. Just try and relax, easier said than done I know x
