Hi all,

Went for a blood test today (as I have been exposed to Parvovirus before 20 weeks) and while I was there, the midwife offered to have a listen in to Bubbs.
I showed her my bump, she had a feel and then a measure, and said that I was measuring big (31cm) for my dates.

I have a fibroid, which she was aware of, and said that even so, I'm quite big. She's booking us in for another scan within the next couple of weeks, to check Bubbs' growth.

I've already got a GTT booked in for mid April, due to family diabetic link and a raised BMI, so hopefully that side will be covered.

Just wondered if anyone else was in the same boat?

Hi Joosie,

I too measured big for dates with a tape measure and I have a high BMI. I had GTT no problems but I was very worried about having a massive baby. Anyway went for a growth scan last week and found baby is just under my middle line in my chart rather than over the top. I asked the sonographer why such a big difference and as she tactfully put it she was just measuring the baby in utero not the outer casing :) so don't panic if like me you are bigger it could be that.

Hi I was told I was having a big baby as was measuring big had gtt came back normal. My dd2 was born 2years ago and only weighed 6lb11oz so had to stay in overnight so they could check sugar levels every few hours but she was fine :). They don't always get measurements right
