Have got really dry skin and in particular lips at the moment and was wondering if chapstick was safe to use in pregnancy?

dry skin and dry lips is usually a symptom of mild dehydration. you need to drink more water.

I imagine chapstick is safe to use though.

Thanks for that - just getting paranoid about everything that I use and use chapstick quite a lot!

Definitely need to drink more water - when pg your body needs so much fluid for all the amniotic fluid and extra blood your body is creating. I try to drink 2 litres per day and so far it's ok - pee a little more but it minimizes dehydration headaches and usually makes me feel a lot better. Sounds like a lot but I try to drink most of it early in the day so I don't have to get up too many times in the night - still up 2 or 3 times though. Lots of water is good for healthy looking skin too.

On the lotion front - the best thing by far that I have found is 'Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream'...........bit more expensive but god I wouldn't leave the house without it these days.

I have really dry skin normally and it has got about a million times worse since being pg and it works for me!
